After looking at getting the Burstnet Internet service I was under the impression that I could sign up for a 30 day 100% money back guarantee. I paid them on 12/20/2012 and cancelled the service a few days later. I waited a week for a refund but that did not happen so I contacted support to ask for a refund.
There was no answer for a couple of days so I contacted them again and asked again. This time I received the runaround asking why and i had to fill out the correct forms. I filled out the form and asked again. See copy below. Today I was told they don't give refunds.
The amount is only $17 but being on an old age pension the amount is important to me.
It would be no trouble at all for them to just reverse the transaction but I think they must be desperate for money.
EMAIL COPY: If you wish to cancel service, for any services ordered on your account, as per our Service Agreement, you MUST complete the Request Cancellation function which can be found in the client billing interface at https://service.burst.net/clientarea.php under "My Products & Services" and/or "My Domains". Selecting the specific service at that location, will bring you to the edit/modify screen for that service, where a Request Cancellation option appears. BurstNET does NOT accept cancellation requests via email, phone, or support ticket. Not using the service, non-payment, or moving your service elsewhere, is NOT a valid method of cancellation---nor are we aware when such is done.

#1 UPDATE Employee
Failure to read service terms / contract
AUTHOR: BurstNET - ()
SUBMITTED: Thursday, May 09, 2013
Please do not blame us for YOUR failure to read the service contract you agreed to upon signup.
Now where in our contract , or our website, does it state that we offer refunds for services rendered.
In fact, several places on our website, including one of the the first questions in our FAQ, clearly state that we do NOT offer refunds, money back guanatees, or free trial periods:
https://www.burst.net/faq-general.php states:
"Is there a trial period or money-back guarantee?
No. BurstNET® services do not come with a trial period or money back guarantee. The reason is that since BurstNET® is such a high bandwidth service, if we were to offer such a refund policy, too many individuals will utilize a full month's service and cancel to avoid the bill. Also, due to the sheer amount of orders BurstNET® generates, we feel our time would be best spent provisioning and providing support for legitimate, long-term clients only. A trial period or money-back guarantee is just not practical due to the amount of time our staff spends on each order/client. The only exception to this would be if BurstNET® specifically advertises a sale with such, or adds such a clause to a custom quote or contract."
