AWFUL. I sent back an old iPad in EXCELLENT condition. Not a scratch on it. I used the packaging BBW sent me, and added additional newspaper to cushion it further. Was supposed to have been inspected in 2-3 business days. When 2 weeks had gone by with no word on my device, I e-mailed customer service to ask about the status and shortly after received a message that my item failed inspection due to "heavy wear." They offered me a significantly reduced quote, which I rejected, and asked them to return my item to me. When I received it, it was completely SHATTERED. Screen and housing broken and splintered as if someone took a hammer to it.  This damage likely occurred in the company's warehouse, whether intentionally or inadvertently, and they took ZERO responsibility for it.  The bottom line is this company failed to provide adequate protection of my item in the process of transit, receipt, unpacking, and inspection; and as a result rendered my old but pristine device completely worthless.

Update

AUTHOR: Kristi - (United States)

POSTED: Sunday, March 04, 2018

Updated review.  Previously rated poorly based on a transaction in which I sent back an old iPad in excellent condition using the provided packaging.  There was a 2 week delay in hearing from them about my item (even then, it took an e-mail from me to prompt a response).  I received a very low counter-offer as they reported my item had "heavy wear."  I rejected this offer and requested my item be returned, as I knew there was no sign of wear on it when I sent it.  When I received my returned item, I found it had been completely shattered.  I don't know if the damage occurred in transit or in the company warehouse, but company did not inform me that there was unexpected damage on the item.  After filing a complaint with the BBB, the company ultimately accepted my item and honored my initial estimate.  I still feel that the company fell short in (1) providing sufficient protection in the shipping packaging; (2) providing rapid turnaround on my item inspection or at least providing an update when they could not meet the anticipated timeline; and (3) providing transparent and honest feedback when the item arrived with unexpected severe damage.  I would have loved to work out a better solution with them without having to have my item shipped back to me only to be returned to them days later.  Still, I have to give them credit for "making it right" in the long run.
