Buyer's Edge Membership Renewal Notice, Schaumburg, Illinois

Received a card in the mail with "Membership Renewal Notice" on the front from "Buyer's Edge," not anything I recognized in any way. The card said "your current membership is due to expire and will automatically renew on 9/18/10 ... your annual renewal membership fee of $149.99 will automatically be billed to the credit or debit card you used for your initial membership charge. It will appear on your statement as 'Buyer's Edge.'" It then told me to avoid being billed for it, call the phone number (866-424-7100) before that date (9/18/10), which I did. I spoke to a very polite man named Craig who informed me that the membership fee would be canceled and provided me with a cancellation confirmation number. My bank has been informed of this, and they're going to keep an eye on it, but I will have to wait the month until September 18th to really see if this phony membership was actually canceled.

I've seen other people report that this place showed up in association with The Company Store; I purchased several items from The Company Store online last autumn using the same debit card. I would imagine that was where they obtained the information, if the association is true.
