I Tried to notify this company or dispute them on my credit report and it keep being confirned. First of all, I never signed to be a co-applicanr for this particular credit card from associate.

Secondly, from my understanding, The balance was suppose to be in the high fourv hundreds(480). Now they have the balance as 3,352. The credit limit was $500 and that never was surpassed.

Another thing, they don't give you no contact number to call them. Plus, I want proof that I suppose to give them my money.

obligated under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act to provide you proof of the debt

AUTHOR: John - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 17, 2005

Kevin,

Cavalry is a debt buyer. They are still obligated under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act to provide you proof of the debt and an opportunity to dispute the validity of the debt. Failure to do so opens them up to punitive damages. You may very likely find that this company has reported erroneous information to the credit bureau on purpose. For example there is a statute of limitations for information to stay on the credit bureau. 7 years. Many debt buyers report the debt as the day they purchased the debt thus lengthening the time it can stay on the credit bureau.

Should you dispute with the credit bureau a form will be sent to Cavalry allowing them to simply check a box that the information is correct. I have attached for you the Arizona Banking Departments information for you to file a complaint. Call them and they will assist you or you can download a complaint form from:

http://azbanking.gov/Lists/CA_List.HTML#bmC

Cavalry Portfolio Services, LLC
Bldg 2, Suite 20
4050 E. Cotton Center Blvd.
Phoenix, AZ 85040

If you suspect that they have put bad information on the credit bureau, you will be happy to know that the Federal Trade Commission has taken a dim view of this and handed down some severe penalties for this practice. I suspect if you send them this entry to Cavalry, they will find a resolution for you. If they don't let me know in the forum and I will tell you how to get those punitive damages from them.
