Last week I too was tricked into this whole 'Calypso Cay Resort' scam - holiday package for 10% approx of real deal. I was stupid enough to even go as far as giving them my real credit card details & them charging me for it. I even got recorded for it all while I was on the phone. I was just couriered a very basic 'Calypso Cay' silver package & DVD. On their one & only letter with the package, this is what they have to say:

Reference: *****
(Name)

This letter is to confirm your prepaid vacation package purchased through Calypso Cay Resort in Kissimmee, FL. This letter outlines the contents of your vacation package. Please review the information below and contact our customer service office when you are ready to set your travel dates.

Details of your package:
* 6 days and 5 nights in Orlando, FL. at Calypso Cay Resort, in Standart Hotel accommodations.
* Your choice of a 4 day 3 night stay in the Bahamas via cruise, or a 3 day 2 night Bahamas cruise.
* 3 days and 2 nights in Daytona Beach, FL. in Standard Hotel accommodations.

You will receive two theme park tickets to a park of your choice.

Package Price: $598.00
Total Paid Today: -$598.00
Balance Remaining: $0.00

Payment was made on your **** credit card ending ****. Your package was charged on ******. Your package is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Please note that if there is an oustanding balance on your package, no travel dates will be confirmed until the balance is paid in full. Please refer to the full terms and conditions of your package for more details."

The 'Terms & Conditions' is way too long for me to enter also, but there is much info about having to attend bring 2 forms of ID, one of them being a Major Credit Card. Also talks about how we must attend 90 minute, no obligation, VIP meetings otherwise we have to pay for things.

From what I can see all here now, this is one big lying game. One big scam! Why are there such dishonest people or organisations out there? The main reason why they said they were selling this promotion really cheap was because they were giving away 100 of those special offers in each country. Once people finish & enjoy their holiday, they can best promote it to others in their country. From what I can see here, if they continue to be lying scams like what they have done with me, they are only going to be legally caught & sued for the amount of frauds they have actioned in the past.

Does anyone know how I can reverse this whole payment? My 30 days is not up yet & I need to hurry up & get my money back fast! If you've successfully got a reverse for this awful 'Calypso Cay' fraud, please help me!

AUTHOR: Ataahua - (Australia)

POSTED: Thursday, October 30, 2008

I just finished calling Calypso Cay (1800)638913 (number on the letter I received in package - not the number I was given during my first sales ph call as that one does not exist!!)

After speaking to someone by the name of Heather Davis, her checking my reference number from my letter was valid, checking my personal details, etc - this is what I have been informed so far about the "Calypso Cay Accommodation" side of things:

* The package covers 'standard' accommodation (not 5 star) accommodation only as well as continental breakfasts. No other meals included (it was explained that standard accommodation can fit up to 6 people maximum). You can upgrade to a resort at your own expenses if you desire. There is no restaurant on the premises - but they say there are a restaurants & food places across the road.

* For the cruise, if you choose the "3 days 2 night Bahamas cruise" option - then meals & everything is included. There is, however, a $398 cruise admission fee for each adult (something to bear in mind). (I didnt get details about children sorry).

* If you choose the other cruise option of "4 days 3 nights in the Bahamas via cruise" then meals are NOT included. Only accomodation is covered.

* The 3 days & 2 nights in Daytona Beach, Florida - there are 30 different accommodations to choose from. This package only includes standard accommodation. If you attend the VIP presentations (which involves much sales promotions - beware) then you will be upgraded to a better quality resort where you can see beach view, personal spa, etc. But only accommodation is paid for - not meals.

* Also yes, there are 2 VIP passes per person to any theme park of your choice.

* Other charges to consider include: Taxes ($5-$12 US) per night; $398 (US) cruise admission (as explained before).

* Transport is NOT included as part of the package

This is the basics of what I was able to discuss with Heather who clearly explained to me that this package DOES exist. If needed, you can contact her on: hdavis@calypso.com

For Daytona Beach details contact Michelle from Holiday Host: holidayhost@holidayvip.com or (386)6729787. She explained the following:

* Standard accommodation is free from 30 different hotels/resorts. So need to discuss to confirm 'which' of the accommodations you want to stay at. If you attend their 90 promotion, no obligation, presentations - then get free upgrade to resort view of beach, quality hotel room, etc. Same things with this accommodation too though - rooms are paid for, meals are not.

So far this is the update that I've received from these people who work at the resorts themselves. If anyone else calls these same details & hears otherwise, please report it as I am still a bit skeptical about things.

Thanks
