Camelback Toyota ripoff - doesn't live up to the hype of it being the #1 vehicle in america Phoenix Arizona

I say this because my ex-husband was a Toyota mechanic for over 10 years. His main line of work was doing "customer campaigns", Toyota will never call it a RECALL because they don't want to lessen the reputation of their product by saying there is anything wrong with it.

Toyota is a great product but with any line you get certain vehicles that are not as dependable as others. Some factors depend on motor (as someone indicated R-22) or what types of design flaws are present. My ex's main "gravy train" ride was the head gasket campaign that kept us rolling in the dough for several years. He was so good at them he and his partner could do 3 a day in the mid nineties. He would always get excited about the new campaign coming up because it would mean warranty money/time and lots more cash in our pockets. Toyota has always thought a lot of their product and are quite over priced to begin with. The resale on them is usually pretty good though so you might do better get it running and selling it yourself.

I bought the vehicle brand new in 1994 it's the V-6 dual cam truck. It only had 11 miles on it when purchased and it now has 148 miles. I took it out of town one time to Colorado and basically drove it to my friends house and drove her cars the entire time their. Because they had 4 wheel drives.

This truck is only driven to and from work and occassionaly up north. It has never been driven hard like I said. There is NO REASON AT ALL for this truck to have had so many problems. I'm basically stuck with it because I'll never ever be able to recoop the money I have in this truck.

So now it sits in my driveway getting ready to be worked upon one more time. This time the fuel injectors are going to be replaced. I just took it into Camelback Toyota and they runed my brand new radiator that my husband just installed.

I'm right now have a BBB report against them for that. I'm just done fighting with these people.

The R-22 motor was the best motor according to my friends that own junk yards and mechanic shops - shoot they won't even work on this truck at all because it's such a pain in the butt.

They are right now trying to find me a R-22 motor to replace the one I have but I also will need to purchase a new electronic system. So I just told them to stop looking.

I'll probably just have to suck it up take my losses and sell it out right, but then again I don't feel that my consense will let me do that. Why would I pawn this HEADACHE onto someone else.

This truck was never driven hard. Since I have owned it I have had nothing but problems. I have taken this truck back to the dealership where purchased and there was never no satisfaction obtained. I even put a letter in with the "Lemon Law via Toyota" and nothing was done about it. Maintenance was always done. Let's face it Toyota built there reputation on the "22-R" motor and this is not the same motor. As time goes on you will see less and less of these vehicles on the road due to cost of repairs.

When people write posts like this, they fail to put in important info like; how many miles does the truck have on it, what type of driving, and where was it driven. You highlight Camelback but it sounds like your main complaint is with Toyota vehicles, with Camelbach a minor due to the service.
