I was under the impression that a person had to give their consent to have their credit report revealed or the person requesting it had to have a legitimate reason for getting it, neither of those occurred.
We checked Hubbies credit report on Experian and although we have NOT requested credit/utility services nor any CREDIT related services in years we found the following:

Does anyone have a clue what is going on? Could this be attempted ID theft?
We were not trying to get credit cards, phones or a mortgage??? I saw on here where Capital One was mentioned as having gotten credit info, issued card, etc...
Any suggestions?

There is a way to contact the major credit reporting companies and put a flag on your credit report. This flag will be on your report for 90 days which means that if you have to check your credit report, it may cause you a hassle. However, if someone else tries to check it, this flag can prevent them from access to your report.
It's crazy that this company has done this so many times. Have you contacted them about this?
