I was contacted by a telemarketer for the zero percent MasterCard on July 8, 2002. After agreeing to the one time only fee of $29.95 I was toget a packet.
I though it odd that a company would offer a zero percent-continuos Master Card, so I researched the company and found this webpage full of other scam victims.
I called the bank to put a stop payment on the tele-check. However, in few days the funds still went through. The bank has refunded my stop payment fee plus the $29.95 that was taken out by Capital First.

#1 Consumer Suggestion
What to do FIRST : CLOSE your account.....

The most important, if you gave your account number to Capital First, run to your bank to close your account.
There is NO any other way to stop them from charging your account again and again under DIFFERENT names, with different amounts.
You cannot say your bank: stop any charge from any name that Capital First ever will use.
Capital First is very different from other scammers. Others very simply charge your account ONCE ($39-$199). Capital First merciless, charges you until your account run out.
Please READ other Capital First stories. About 3-5-6 charges...
And something else: HANG UP THE phone if ANYBODY call your with a financial offer. Request the info in mail. There is NO way to chek the validity of an offer over the phone, and there is no way to see the terms/fine print during a 10 minute long call.
