I was contacted by Andrew Williams and was told that I qualified for a $3000 loan. I sent money on a dark blue money gram form. Sometimes the account # was the same....but it was usually to "pay power" or "Rush card live". The account number was sometimes the same....and sometimes different.

I was assured each and every time that this money would be returned to me. I have paid over $1000 in so called "fees" because I was in desperate need of a loan. I am a single mom and Im trying to support my kids and am just a little short on funds.

The deposit of $4500 was to be made to my account today 2/13/15.... $3000 loan and the rest was fees that I paid. I am sad to say I got absolutely nothing. I have $35 to my name and bills due. I thought I was doing the right thing..and then I read this report that it was a scam and I started to cry. I was just trying to support my family...and working 2 jobs doesnt always make ends meet.I truly hope I can get my money back. I know this...I will never apply for anything online again. This was a very costly mistake that I fell for because I was in a desperate situation.

This is a common, widespread scam. There's a lot of safe ways to get financial help: contact the Department of Social Services for your state, community outreach programs, churches, friends, family, co-workers. Search online for places that give temporary help to single mothers - but if any of them ask for money or your financial info, move on.

A lot of people think if they get help from Social Services it means they're on welfare, but they also have programs for temporary assistance for families that just need a little help, or they may be able to refer you somewhere.

Also check out the Federal Trade Commission website for info about avoiding scams.
