Capital One sold a false account to mcm Ripoff Salt Lake City Utah

In March of 2007, i applied with Capital One for a credit card and was denied stating they could not verify my information. That was fine, trying to rebuild my credit so a denial is expected sometimes. On 7/06/2007 i recieved a letter in the mail from MCM (midland credit management) saying they just purchased my Capital One Account with a DEFAULT balance of 1,330.72.I have never had a account with Capital One. I APPLIED for credit but was denied. So where does this 1,330.72 come from? I contacted Capital One but have yet to recieve a response. I will update as information becomes available.
