I read a similar post about Career Networks or The internet company on here. Really similar, in fact the same manager who was contacting her regarding the "job" had the same email address BrianH@internet-company.com. I applied online where I was directed from a Craigslist ad to a waitstaff position. I was sent information regarding becoming a Media Buyer for Career Network. I went through a couple "trainging" conference calls where they gave information about the comany. I was told that I needed to post ads on CL for employers that are in their system. This way they can help filter potential employees for their clients. They are directed to the same page I went to to apply for the waistaff position and there if they choose yes or maybe regarding an advertisement (usually for school) then I receive $.25 for each opt in.

I was having a few questions and started emailing "Brian" but was getting no response. After about three emails I sent him a "is this a scam" kind of email and what do you know he emailed me back with a obviously automated response. I wrote back multiple more times and I guess I started messing with the system because they sent me to "Amanda" I now ask her all the same questions and only get one response which is also very automated. I have now sent her a very personal email calling her out on not actually being a human but just a program. We shall see what happens.

I'm not sure what they are getting out of this... I haven't paid for anything and am pretty untouched by the experience other than having a little hurt pride for being fooled into thinking it might actually be a legitimate job. I'm not sure what to classify this as but somethings not right, I know that much.

Keep you posted :)

REAL JOBS!!! NOT A SCAM!!!

AUTHOR: needtruth707 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 17, 2010

I would really like to remove this entry but I guess Rip Off Report doesn't allow you so I will post an update instead. I have actually been in contact now The Brian from Career Network or Internet-company. He left me a long and detailed and personal message that covered many questions I have. Amanda also responded personally to my messages. My main motive to writing this post was to find out if this company was actually legit or if some of the claims were in fact real. What I have found out is that I think there is a huge possibilty that some of the people thinking these jobs are fake are jsut not getting hired. If you think about it though it's really hard to get hired in this econonmy even if you are hand delivering resume's yourself. I was hasty and jumped into posting this before I gathered all my information, mostly because I just really morally don't want to be a part of anyone getting dooped or scammed. While I was trying to find out more information legitimately about this company (info other than what rumours were going on online) I went ahead and emailed some of the companies that they post jobs for. Guess what? They have used Career Network to post real jobs! I even spoke over the phone with one nice man and he verified this information to me as well as I received emails from others stating the same thing.

Like I said I would really like to just delete this post but since I cannot then maybe I will help alleviate some worries and bad press out there about the company. My personal experience is that these jobs are real, the people at the company are real and that there really isn't any harm in encouraging people to look for more information about education (the advertising really is very non envasive) I apologize to Career Network for any detriment I may have added to their name and hope that people still give them a chance.
