I did a job search and Career Networks came up in it just as many other search sites. I filled out a short questionnaire for a job that looked interesting and was "right up my alley."

I received an email that said I met the initial requirements and he/she would like to refer me as a potential candidate and to go to a certain website which contained a log-in prompt. I cut and pasted the link into my browser and completed a short application. Then, they asked for references, which I sent.

I emailed them but most of the emails had been bounced back to me until I found an email address but nobody answered my email. My email to them that I didn't like applying for blind ads and in fact, companies warn potential applicants about being very careful. There are a lot of scams posted on the Internet to separate the job seeker from his or her identity. The email didn't come back undeliverable nor did they answer it.

Today, I received two more emails, both from senior recruiters in their HR division and pretty much both said the same thing--I had a lot to offer, I'd make a solid candidate, etc. They each provided a link to its sign up form and both emails indicated someone from HR would contact me in 24-48 hours to set up an interview.

They listed their company's address as a Post Office Box in Orlando.

They have on their webpage that they can't give out any information of employers because it's confidential. The applicant has to wait for an employer to contact him or her.

The three of us who have posted on this company needs to know from the company if it is legit or not. I won't be answering any more of their emails until they prove to me and the other two posters on this site they are legit.

As has been stated earlier, we are a fairly new company that is growing rapidly and we are scrambling to catch up. Your suggestions are being taken seriously, and have been forwarded to the Director of Operations. We do work out of an office building, but currently use a P.O. box for many reasons, only one of which is security. Those issues are being worked out and eventually we will include all of the information on our site that you feel is necessary.

The references section was created at the request of several of our corporate clients who wanted that information included in the resume file we send to them. References are not typically included on a resume, and our clients feel that having them upfront will speed up the hiring process on their end. We only offer the service as an add on feature to clients, one they specifically have to request. However, so many clients are requesting it the service has almost become standard.

The internet has opened up so many avenues to businesses that did not exist before that many of the innovations at first frighten people. We understand that and are constantly working to satisfy both our clients and our applicants with safe and secure procedures. We will certainly take the reticence of your references to heart, and try to devise a way that will enable them to confidently fill out your references.

Our processes and business are constantly evolving, and it's interaction just such as this driving that change. Thank you for taking the time to voice your concerns about our company. I assure you we will be discussing them amongst our senior staff.

Career Network, Inc

No your response didn't clear up confusion. First, according to the Florida Dept of Corporations there are several Career Network Inc companies listed on its website. These say that the company is inactive. The one a Florida supervisor of Economic Crimes found was listed with a Jupiter Florida address, which is the one he emailed me.

By the way, it is not a question of your recruitment practices meeting my needs. It's about sending an email to my references using infosystems or jobtracksystems company confidential with my name in the subject line. She thought it was a phishing scheme and deleted it. If someone notifies you about that happening what do you do? Do you forward it onto the employer? You should since you are telling us that its in the employers' hands. What is the employer so afraid of that it has to hide behind "company confidential." How do we know that our information has been sent to the employer in question?

As a management, ethics, and customer service trainer which is why I'm staying anonymous, this company has a lot to be desired. There are others that put applicants in touch with employers even confidentially but those agencies have their physical office address listed unless you work out of your homes. Any company that provides a service needs to have the name of the CEO accessible for that person to contact. There isn't any CEO or corporate governance that I could find on your website. All legit companies have some way for customers to contact a higher-up in management. You said that you use the post office box for safety purposes which could mean you work out of your homes or your hiding something. CareerNetworkjobs.com is not adult protective services. Of what are you folks afraid? Remember the perception of your company is with the recipient whether you like it or not.

I'd hate to miss a job referral if your company is really legit, but your response didn't exactly make me feel that much better. You also state that we contact you if we have any further issues or suggestions at info@careernetwork.us.com. Yet, nobody replies to those emails so please inform all of us why you tell people to write you about issues and suggestions but don't answer in return. This is not good service. Other than saying that I'm not going to suggest how to provide better service to your applicants. I understand why they are upset and I understand why my reference had a fit. However, it doesn't appear (again the message is in the perception of the recipient) that all of you understand it.

Please allow me to clear up the issue

AUTHOR: Career Network - (U.S.A.)

I'm sorry that you feel our recruitment practices are not meeting your needs. I'm sure this is only due to a misunderstanding of us and our business. Allow me to clear up any confusion by explaining who we are and what it is we exactly do.

Career Network is a new job board that is free to use by both job seekers and employers. Currently, there are thousands of jobs throughout the country available for application on our network of employment sites. We actively market those opportunities to individuals who have previously expressed interest in receiving employment offers. This works as a benefit for our corporate clients as we actively reach hundreds of potential applicants who had not previously been introduced to the opportunity through traditional job ads.

To keep our services free to both job seekers and employers we do offer advertising verticals on the site. However they are completely voluntary and do not in any way affect job seekers' consideration for the listed employment opportunities. We act only as an intermediary between the applicants and the hiring companies, and do not interfere with the delivery of submitted resumes for any reason. To do so would jeopardize our relationships not only with our corporate clients but our advertising partners as well.

Once those resumes are delivered, the rest of the process is solely in the hand of the employer. The decision to hire, not hire, contact, etc. is theirs alone. If they receive a large amount of resumes, they may require extra time to respond to the applicants who did not make the cut. From personal experience, I have received that letter as long as six months after I applied for a position.

We do have a contact phone number for employers listed on the employer section of our Web site. However, that will get you in contact with our account managers who have no control over the status of your application. Like I said, that decision is out of our hands. If you are having technical issues accessing the site, please use the email provided.

Furthermore, let me assure you that nothing will be done with your personal information that you do not expressly authorize. Foremost, since you are applying for a position, your resume will be transmitted to the employer who will then consider you for a job based solely on your skills and education. Beyond that, we will only connect you with our promotional partners if you agree to it during the application process.

I hope this clears up any confusion you may have regarding our Web site and our recruitment services. Please feel free to contact us with any further issues or suggestions at info@careernetwork.us.com.
