Do not sign up with this company. If you hate the course after you get it in the mail, career step says to bad. Suck it up and like it. Don't care get used to it. They make you stay in the course even if you hate it. SO they want you to continue doing the classes even if you don't enjoy it and fail it cause you hate it and do not like the job you would be doing. What school tells this to people! Stay away from this school. YOu would be better off with the same books off line and do it on your own. The books are self taught which you can buy at the book store alot cheaper and return if you hate them. Can't believe a school makes you take a class you do not want to do as a career. Unbelieveable. Stay away from these people. They give you 14 days to try the course but don't send the books until 20 days later. What a ripoff. Don't have access to the course until then so of course it is too late to cancel in the 14 days.

I am actually interested in studying with this school and wanted to know more before I make that commitment.

Is there anything else you can tell me with regards to actually studying with this school?

I do understand that students will get out of it what they put into it and not everyone is going to be happy with their results.

Thanks so much!

Best regards!

Julie

Unfair Complaint

First off, ANY class you start there comes a time where you will not get any of your money back. I took courses in a community college, and it is all the same. Once you start learning, they can't take away the education you already learned, so there WILL be a point of no return and you don't get money back. That goes for ANY school.

As for Career Step, I am a current student  and about 2/3 done with the course. I think it is an awesome company and what you learn is tremendous. They have been there when I had a problem with the software, they immediately fixed it. They have excellent support.

Career Step  is NOT an easy course and not for everyone, but it is AWESOME if a person is serious about becoming a medical transcriptionist. If you aren't ready to buckle down and work hard, then this program isn't for you. But you shouldn't blame them for that. It is a good program and for someone to bash it because of their own issues is not fair. They stand by what they say and they prepare you for a great career, but YOU have to take responsibility and do the work.

CAREER STEP IS AWESOME!

Did follow return procedures.

I followed all procedures for return. I have notified every dept about return. When you mention return they all run and hide and you will never hear from them again. They do not return any money so do not believe them at all. Jenae Walker is the worst. Says she never emailed you when she returns and email to you with the previous email attached. This is how they say you never contacted them, when you very well did. Turned this over to an attorney to make public and the BBB and the attorney generals offices.

Career Step Policies

AUTHOR: Career Step - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 18, 2012

Career Step has developed a number of training programs designed to help students learn a specific skill set and start a career in a new field. The school provides abundant career information on its website as well as Academic Advisors who are available to answer questions and help prospective students gather information on the various careers and the Career Step training programs. Though Career Step strives to help students choose the career field that will be the best fit for them, both professionally and personally, these resources are in no way a guarantee that a student will enjoy the training program or the career field. The school offers a 2 week refund period to provide students the opportunity to withdraw with a full refund should they decide that the program or career is not for them.

The Career Step training programs are completely online, giving students complete access to all of the curriculum from day 1 of their enrollment.  The textbooks included with the course have the same material as is available online and are meant to provide students a way to study away from the computer; they are in no way required to access the course material. These books are also shipped within a day or two of enrollment, so students receive their textbooks within 7-10 days of starting the course. Students have 14 days to return the program for a full refund, and they are provided complete access to the program for that entire period.
