Century Link has the nerve to charge rural customers, who have access to the slowest DSL speeds available, the same price as they charge urban customers who are able to stream movies and music. Rural customers are lucky to have their internet work long enough to check email. I work from home....or try to. Several times a year Century Link has "hardware" failures which usually last from 3 days to a week. The most recent incident they were down from 11/27/13-12/3/13. After speaking with 7 people, visiting one of their stores (60 miles from my home) to get a new modem and having to drive 80 miles roundtrip per day in order to be able to do my job, they are down again today, 12/12/13. The last person I spoke with was generous enough to credit my account with just over $8. $8 is the value Century Link put on one of their customers driving 620 miles and spending 2-3 hours on the phone. Thank you Century Link. For going that extra mile to insure customer satisfaction. Thank you Century Link. For giving all of your India-based, customer service representatives fake American names to write down. Thank you Century Link. For making sure your employees always know exactly what's going on in the field during an outage. I never get tired of "We are aware there is an outage in your area, technicians are working on the problem and it will be resolved in 24-48 hours". Hey....I totally believe you. Thank you Century Link. For $8. I was worried that some companies were starting to care more about the bottom line than about customer service. Thank you Century Link. For keeping your employees local and supporting Coloradoans as they support you. Thank you. Mary, Henry, Roy, Pinky, Noel, Rosie and Gracie. I totally believe those are your real names and will address your EChristmas cards as such. You may never receive them though.....because I use Century Link for my internet.
