Charterstone Financial Group Do not fall for their tricks! BAD BAD Company! Englewoods Cliffs New Jersey

I was on the internet in September looking for a loan. I came across Charterstone Financial Group. I applied for a loan online and I got a call on October 1, 2008 from Elliot Grant who was with the company. He first left a voice message saying I had been approved for a loan and to call for more information. I called and he stated that their company looked for private loans for people with credit issues and he found a loan for me. He said that the loaner was from Cananda, and because he was from Cananda the loan had to be guaranteed with funds. He said to make the first 7 loan payments (820.00) and he would give me the loan for $5000.00. I was very skeptical. I had him fax me the loan documents. I had a lawyer take a look at the documents for me where I work and also contacted Better Business Bureau and everyone said the loan looked legitimate. I sent the payment. He had me wire the money to Canada. I was suppose to get $5000 the next day by 5pm. At 3pm the next day, the Customer Service manager Chris called me to say that my loan was not accepted and I need to send in another $820.00 to guarantee the loan. I told him no way and to cancel the transaction and return my funds. He said he would give me an extra $200 for the inconvenience. He said the funds would be returned by October 28 (yesterday). They did not come by 5pm so I called again and the gentleman from customer service said all monies will be returned after midnight. I woke up this morning and there was no money and their phone number is disconnected. Luckily, I never expected to get the money back, but I am sure there are people whose lives have been ruined by this company. Please, please, if anyone calls you from Charterstone, get their new information and post here so we can try to get a lawsuit together for everyone. I just know they are going to pop up again somewhere. If they call you, just get the information BUT do not TRUST THEM FOR A SECOND!!!! Their website is very good and documents very good, but it is a terrible scam.
