I financed a car with Chase Auto Finance out of Indianapolis, Indiana in October 2009, all my payments were on time. The first problem I had with them was when I was 1 day late on my payment which is due on the 21st of every month. They called 3 or 4 times a day on the 22nd. If this isn't harrassment, I don't know what is. Then this month (July 2010) Mrs. Walker from Indy calls me and tells me that my April payment was never made. I made my payment May 3rd, yes it was late and paid the late fee. This phone call occurred on July 16th. Why didn't she tell me sooner? Well, then she called again 3 days later, I didn't answer so she called my fiance's mother, asking if she knew where I was. My payment for July is due on the 21st keep in mind. So, she called again on the 27th of July and when I talked to her telling her that I made my payment for April on the 3rd of May, she says, oh no you misunderstood me, I meant June. I'm not deaf, and I heard her right. Long story short, what happens is they can't find my May payment. I always go into the bank to make my payments, mind you I have NEVER not made a payment.
Now Mrs. Walker tells me since I have a payment missing, and that my July payment was due on the 21st, they are coming to take my car July 30th. I'm not even 2 months behind. I know I made my payment and since they can't find it, in their eyes I have to repay the lost payment. And on top of the lost payment, I am guilty of being 7 days late on my July payment. I was terminated from my job and explained that to her. She doesn't care, she told me that I am 2 months behind, and anyone can do the math, 7 days late is not considered a month which is 30 days. I hate this company with a passion! How can they come take my car for being 7 days late, and blaming me for a lost payment!!!
I will never deal with this company again!!! I have talked with many people about Chase Bank and they are rude, harassing, and seem to loose customers payments like crazy.
I just read a post where Chase Bank lost 2 months of their mortgage payments totaling $4k!!! And they have the cashed checks from Chase to prove it!!
Why doesn't someone do something? Doesn't the FDIC get involved in Bank fraud? It's not the consumer, it's the business!!!! If someone has answers please keep me posted.
Gratefully appreciated.

Chase is a Bully

Chase is a bully. They purposely don't post payments. I refuse to be intimidated by them. I'm taking them to small claims court to proof that I have been making my payments. I wish someone with money would take on Chase~!

I hate Chase Auto Finance

I am sorry that this happened to you. I am also sorry that I have no added suggestions for you. I had almost the exact same thing happen to me, except I sent my payments via certified check and Chase claimed they never received them, although I have copies of the person at Chase signing for them via USPS. They charged off my loan and threatened to repossess. I had to borrow the entire amount of the remaining loan from a family member and pay off the loan in it's entirety in order to prevent this from happening. My credit is also ruined: I initially had a 700 some credit score and it's now down to 519! I spoke with a lawyer about this and he said that Chase is virtually untouchable. :( I hope this isn't the case, and am still researching...

Find Your Receipt

I would really try to find the receipt of where you made the payment. Mistakes do happen. the person who took the payment could have applied it to the wrong account. Human Error.
Also remember that payments are applied in order. If there is a missing payment, all future payments all applied to the oldest payment owed.
I understand that it is easy to get upset, but it is really worth taking the time to assist w/ researching the matter.
I used to work for one of the big 3's credit companies. I have seen a persons car get repossessed due to a clerk applying a Western Union payment to the wrong company. The gentleman, would not take the time to speak to us much less listen. He was so set on the fact that he made his payment & thats was all we needed to know. It was not until the car was gone & his wife got the receipt, did he realize that the supermarket clerk paid the wrong company.
