Chase Home Finance Chase refuses to admit that they made a mistake and correct it. I think that they are intentially trying to forclose on me because of their mistake....I pay my own taxes separate from my mortgage and Chase decided to pay it in the 7th year of the mortage without my consent and charge me exorbitant escrow payments. In my mortgage agreement of 2000, I pay the taxes to Philadelphia, which I have done for 7 years. In 2007, Chase decided to pay the taxes in November without my knowledge or my consent. I too paid the same taxes in December 2007. This did not come to my attention until October 2008 when they doubled my escrow payment. Chase has now decided that they will now almost double my mortgage and they will pay the taxes. I am unable to speak with anyone in a position of authority except Customer Service people who basically repeat the company line that it is their right to do whatever they want to do. I explained to them when it came to my attention in October that 2008 taxes were paid twice and Philadelphia was willing to refund their money and I would continue to pay my own taxes. Since that time, I have sent certified letters to them and have contacted them. I only get form letters telling me that I owe them this rediculous amount and that I must pay immediately. One can never speak with anyone that can problem solve. It is most frustrating and if I could pay off this mortgage, I would. I never want to have anything to do with Chase again and I would not be upset if this company were to go under and not receive any federal bail out money.
