An ongoing saga for over three years now. I have had my loan for seven years which was sold to Chase. They contend that I fell behind on a payment 3 years ago.
I called to clear it up and was told it was their own mistake. I received another letter some months later saying I was another payment behind.
I called to straighten this out and they argued with me and were very rude. This problem has been ongoing for over three years and each time I called, I would get a different story from Chase.
Now they contend that I am 4 payments behind and have threatened forclosure. Every time I have called, they are VERY rude to me and it's always a different story. They would never let me speak to a supervisor or anyone except customer service.
I contacted the BBB of Ohio who told me that Chase has an unfavorable rating with them for things as described. Chase has also miscalculated my escrow which jumped my payment up an extra $160.00 a month. I will be suing the company.
I was going to refinance at a low interest rate but Chase has also affected my credit and no one will lend to me. I am going to have to end up suing them but in the mean time because I can't refinance at a lower rate, I am falling behind on bills.

Dear Greg I wanted to take the time to respond to your report concerning Chase Manhattan. My wife and I are currently in a similar situation with Chase and have had the same results. In 2004 we fell behind 2 months in our mortgage payments we contacted chase and tried to work out a forbearance agreement with them which would allow us to pay a little extra each month to catch up on the rear payments or add these payments to the rear and recalculate loan which is very popular.we had been with them since we purchased the house new in 1998 8 years our loan was sold and then bought back by chase we have a Freddy mac conventional loan and chase told us we had to have 2 years with them under this type of loan to qualify and our pre existing time with them did not count. we had to file a chapter13 in order to keep them from foreclosing on our home now 3 1/2 years into this we start paying closer attention to our statements and notice the principle wasn't moving we went through our old paper work and found significant differences in the figures. our chapter 13 lawyer plays stupid we want to get out of chapter13 and refinance to get away from Chase they are crooks I called them on it got 2 different figures on the back payments. our records indicate we have over paid them by $6.879.00 we have an attorney on the case and are planning to sue them we found out they even sent a false figure to the bankruptcy court in the beginning of what we originally owed. any how wanted to share this with you hope you get them I only have to weeks to deal with them I am currently deploying to Iraq with my military unit and do not want my wife to be burdened with these crooks

I eventually did file suit against Chase in the Oklahoma state court and by law Chase had 20 days to respond, which they didn't so by all rights I should have a default judgement but Chase then moved the case in to Federal Court.
Chase sicked two Federal attorneys on me and so far there has been mounds of paperwork and a day and a half of depositions. Lucky for me I have an understanding of law or I would have been done by now.
I can almost guarntee that Chase has spent upwards of around $100,000 so far on this issue and the house was only appraised at $89,000. This shows the level that Chase will stoop to deprive a citizen of their investment. Chase didn't get as rich as they are by being ethical.
I am now 5 1/2 years in to this this and should have a jury trial in October.
I hope I nail this company after what they put me through and what they have put the thousands and thousands of other people through.

Greg I am sorry your experience with Chase was a horrible one. I am a customer care professional and I must agree that some of the reps are quite rude. I do apologize that you were not able to speak with a supervisor because we do have a team of supervisors who take on escalated calls.
IF it is our fault then your credit should be corrected. I don't know what went on but if you made a payment then all you would have to do is send in a f&b copy of the check and it would be corrected.
Please feel free to email me and let me know if it has been resolved or not and please remember that not all the reps are bad.
Also regarding escrow. Has to have 2 months of payments in there at all times so the account does not fall short. It calculates your principle and interest and then what we pay out to taxes and insurance. We don't have any control over them decreasing or increasing. Any time they increase or decrease it can cause a flucuation in payment. With the payment missing though I can see a shortage with escrow.
