My problem began years ago when I noticed a charge from WOW on my credit card. After disputing it with Chase Manhattan Visa, I decided that it was costing me more in time and phone calls than the $15.99 the charge was for. So I decided to leave the charge, and carry on with my life. Big mistake. I lost my card about seven months ago, and started a dispute regarding fraudulent charges that were placed on the lost card with Chase Visa. They initially removed the charges, but then reapplied them; because I Failed to return some document they claimed they sent me.

After some work on my own, I manage to get one company to remove their charge. I guess they realized that their employee was lax in accepting the card, but it was only after I secured written documentation that the charge was actually removed from my account by Chase Visa. Another company that I approached regarding the charges removed them, but I was not given the credit and up to today the charge remains on my account.

In the meantime I had been making countless calls to Chase, trying to get these charges removed, and even though I was assured the problem was being taken care of, it was only after I insisted on talking to the Fraud Investigator handling my account that I was informed that the dispute was over, the account had been closed and the charges would remain, with me being held liable.

So even though one company returned the money to Chase Visa, they kept the money, did not notify me, and were still holding me liable for this charge. I cannot begin to imagine the amount of people this must have happened to. Companies return the charged money to Chase, but they keep the money and still charge the card holder for the fraudulent charges. Needless to say, I don't have to tell anyone that this is a criminal offense. These are the injustices, we consumers face, at the hands of unscrupulous bankers, who after squandering billons, want to squeeze the little people and try to recoup their gambling losses.

This is a company whose main selling point is that their card holders are not liable for theft or fraud charges. Besides that, I carried fraud insurance, for a monthly premium of course, yet these charges that were cancelled by the establishment still remain outstanding on my credit card balance. So, I was paying for fraud insurance, had fraud committed on my account, had some removed, and still was liable for these charges

I would like to know where the various Attorney Generals in whose states Chase does business are. They are supposed to be there to protect us from these predators, yet you never hear that any of these banks are being investigated.
