CIC Credit Monitoring Service ripoff! CIC charged me without providing any info to get credit reports, etc.! Orange California

On 10/31/03, I was charge $59.95 on my credit card after a so called trial period with CIC Credit Monitoring and Reporting Service. When I signed up for the service, I was provided a "NOT AUTHORIZED" message from them on-line because I could not verify enough information (addresses, etc). So therefore, I left it alone thinking that I did not owe them anything for the last 30 days or so. I never received any confirmation of membership, pending charges, credit reports, credit monitoring reports -- not one "smidget" of information from CIC. They just charged my account at the end of a trial period that was the very thing I was trying to protect when I checked out their website.

This is just a ripoff for people like me to get into. I was very hesistant about giving my personal information. However, I thought they were legit because they were advertising on my Yahoo home page. My big mistake and hopefully not anyone elses. This company has to be stopped immediately. Somebody let me know whatever I can do to help put a stop to CIC and other like it -- Now! CIC's telephone number is 877*513-4175 which was very difficult to find.
