CIC CREDIT MONITORING SERVICES CAUSED FINANCIAL HARDSHIP ON FAMILY ripoff SAN LUIS OBISPO California

On 04/30/2003 I filed for a free credit report with CIC Credit for $4.99 for a 30-day free trial. I cancelled that free trial within the 30 days, as noted, as to not be charged $79.95 for a credit report that I can get for free, just by applying for a credit card, which I know I will be turned down for and when they send you the letter and give you the information on the company that they based their decision on and if you send the letter where they denied you along with a request for a free credit report, you will get one.

Anyway, back to my original story, I am unemployed and have been since February 2003 with 6 people living in my home. CIC debited from my account on 06/05/2003 $79.95, then again on 06/09/2003 for $79.95, and then again on 06/07/2004 for $79.95. All of these times it caused us to go into overdraft and the bank charged us for each of the checks we had outstanding due to CIC debiting our account without our authorization.

I have contacted the phone numbers on my bank statements which are 87-513-4175 and 80-220-2626 which have been disconnected. The third number 888-749-0731 is where I spoke with Joanna which took me over 30 minutes arguing with this woman that I did not have a membership to cancel, nor did we authorize them to debit our account for two charges of $79.95, much less the current $79.95 on 06/07/2004. The best Joanna said she could do was credit me $60.00 and gave me a confirmation number, then she gave me another phone number to call in reference to another charge and insisted that it wasn't her company.

The phone number was 650-802-7887 which I called and spent over 20 minutes arguing with Sheila at that number. She finally said they would credit my account $77.95 and cancel my membership. I told her there was never a membership to cancel, so I did not know what she was talking about and to refund my money. She gave me a confirmation number for a credit of $77.95 and told me it would take 7-10 days. I explained that it didn't take them 7-10 days to take it out, what was the problem? She hung up.

So this SCAM has cost me and my family a financial hardship of not only the charges they took which came to a total of $244.84, but also, over $150.00 in overdraft fees, not to include the extra $20.00 for each check we had to pick up from where we had written it, due to this Company being allowed to harm people live myself. I pray that someone has enough money to hire an attorney and bring this company down.
