 The service man has been out several times to look at the internet because we cannot get on the internet sometimes, and then we we do it runs so slow you cannot watch a video, and cannot even upload files as they time out. We were told that the service here would run up to 5. One time they had me run a speed test and it took 45 minutes to do so. We are paying for a service that does not even work, and being price gauged to pay for a service speed that turns out is not even possible in this area. The guy that came out called the chief engineer to see if there was a plan to upgrade the necessary equipment at the main box on the road in order to even operate properly. Our wireless service has been running at max 2mbps and mostly at 1mbps and below when I have ran tests. We have been told for 5 years that that service would be improved and it turns out the equipment has never been upgraded to match their promises of unto 5mbps. They acknowledge that our area was not capable of getting the full speed, yet we are offered to pay for the service that runs up to 5mbps. They have knowledge of this at the engineers office, the service people, and the office. Yet they still offer the higher package to get better connection when it is not even possible. Most of my time it takes sometimes an hour to even connect to upload and send a big file. I want to download a new operating system for my computer and it says at the current speed it will take 4 days to do so. This is over the top cheating the customer, and offering packages to people that cannot even get the service because a certain system has not even been installed. Customer service should offer the lower package because it is the only one that is even possible. Yet they will let you pay the higher price thinking you are getting some better service. The engineer even said you should drop down your plan to minimum 2mbps because that is all you will ever get. If many people are using the internet on peek hours in the area then you may not even be able to get on. The service people said there is no trouble in our line, it simple is the service that does not even work properly most all the time. It is as slow as dial up. I take that back it would never take 4 days to load a big program. Perhaps an hour max on dial up. This is blatant price fixing for services that cannot be rendered and not disclosing it to people when they trouble shoot, and find that the service cannot even run a speed test. Every phone call they say they are working on this problem and should upgrade soon in the area.  It has been over 5 years and engineer said to his worker on the phone that no equipment has been purchased to upgrade for the area, and the current routers are 5 years old too they are renting out. We were told we could upgrade to a better model and it was the same one, and they said that was the best.  Same model that has been around for 5 or more years.  It does not even reach to remote computers via wi-fi. You have to sit next to it, and it stil does not work well and then there is the speed problem.  We were told to get a better wifi signal we would need to purchase a booster on our own dime. Then they are still charging us a fee to rent old outdated equipment in the house, and the hardware at the box with the cables is out of date with technology, and not capable to even perform what they claim. Outrageous.  This should be a class action law suit, and customers should be refended the amount they are paying for that is not even possible. Plus, they should be required to upgrade all equipment, cable, telephone lines, to keep up with their claims.  Come to find out they do not even offer TV cable in our area.  How could they even sell a high speed package? This is like buying an iphone claiming to have 128GB capacity and it really only has 16GB but you are going to pay the extra money, since it is packaged that way.
