My mom bought a new laptop for $800.00. Had problems right off the bat, come to find out, the product# & model# matched the #'sof a refurbished computer. The first time we went to the store, to get them to do something about it the technician, told the store manager, that it was already corrupted, after only a month after having it.
Circuit city, declared that they don't sell refurbished computers and they wer'ent liable for the machine . So my mom finally contacted{ HP} and we have had to send it to them {4} times so far. When they gave my mom the laptop to carry home when she first purchased it, it came with a open box & a piece of cardboard that was tore off another box that had a barcode to a TOSHIBA laptop.

All they done was took a returned laptop, and reprogrammed it with windows vista home premium edition, and reformatted the harddrive, and sold it for new,& and ripped my mom off $800.00 2 days before last christmas.

The only thing she's ever had that she payed that kind of money for & got ripped off & is still stuck with it.

P.S. I REALLY HOPE THAT THE CIRCUIT CITY STORE IN ANDERSON GOES BANKRUPT, STORE MANAGERS SHOULDN'T BE ALLOWED TO TREAT PEOPLE LIKE THAT,& THEY ARE VERY RUDE, TAKING ADVANTAGE, OF A LEGALLY BLIND DISABLED WOMAN OF THREE BOYS.

even though she left out some stuff i believe her i was born and raised in anderson and knows how the stores work but i also agree with the other lady i wouldnt have bought something with another label on it and open box unless they told her sold as is come on now the store knows that they take back use product and fix it or supposely fix it and then put back on the shelf they makers want it to be sold and the retail stores needs the money to keep running so we all know that most stores if not all stores talk use product that has been brought back and fix and stick it back out there alot of these companies need to be honest and work out the bugs and things before they sell if your stuff dont work or make a bad sell then before you know it its bye bye store shop business or whatever so watch out alot of companies go under for mess like this

Why did you attack me personally?

First of all, i didnt sell this lady this laptop. I had no dealing with this women other than trying to help getting her laptop repaired. The store manager asked her to leave the store several times because she was harrassing our employees. No other manager at Circuit City would help her because she was abusive to everyone and would not listen to reason. I even called HP and put her on the phone with them so they could tell her the computer was not a refurb. I guess i should have known better than to give someone who is obviously not stable my business card. No other manager was going to help and i am sorry i ever talked to her about anything to do with this computer and tried to help her. I dont appreciate her using my name on your website and bashing me for trying to help her. She is paranoid and really needs to get some help.

Open box?

You state it came with an open box and a piece of cardboard that had a barcode and Toshiba written on it. I'm not sure why she would've accepted that as new. It had problems right off the bat. I take that as ''day one". Yet she kept it approximately 14 days after the return policy before bringing it back. Ok. She calls HP and has sent it in 4 times. What is wrong with it? What does "corrupted" translate into? I'm still puzzled how someone would pay full price for a computer given to them in an opened box. And that torn piece of cardboard. What was that for? Again I'm not understanding why no questions were asked. While I completely understand someone not knowing anything about a computer, blindly accepting opened merchandise being sold as new I don't understand. And I'm still puzzled that no questions were asked about the torn cardboard with the barcode. Even if the box was closed I would've had to ask them what that was for. This post, like a number of others I've been reading, seem to lack critical information, or logic for that matter, to be taken seriously. I'm not trying to be insulting, it's just that after reading your complaint it seems like pertinent information has been left out. But perhaps if we had that information there would be no real complaint...
