I moved out of the clearwire service area and tried to cancel service, they would not let me cancel until I paid $180 early termination fee. They dont provide me the service, why should I provide the funds? There is no paper trail with the monthly billing. I dont get the option of having a statement sent to my address each month.

Jq,

In the TOS that you agreed to upon receipt of your service, an ETF applies if you cancel your contract. Here is the exact quote from within those Terms of Service, which are listed on the Clearwire.com site (http://www.clearwire.com/company/legal/terms.htm):

-=-
If your Internet Access Service was activated prior to March 1, 2007 and you terminate that Service for any reason, including relocation outside a coverage area, or that Service is terminated by Clearwire for any violation by you of the Agreement prior to the end of the Initial Term or any Renewal Term, as applicable, you will be liable for an early termination fee of $180 or such other early termination fee as may be specified on your Order Form. If your Internet Access Service was activated on or after March 1, 2007 and you terminate that Service for any reason, including relocation outside a coverage area, or that Service is terminated by Clearwire for any violation by you of the Agreement prior to the end of the Initial Term or any Renewal Term, as applicable, you will be liable for an early termination fee of $220 less (a) $5 per month for each full month of Service after the beginning of the Initial Term or the Renewal Term, as applicable, prior to such termination if your Initial Term is for two years and (b) $10 per month for each month of Service after the beginning of the Initial Term or the Renewal Term, as applicable, prior to such termination if your Initial Term is for one year, or (c) such other early termination fee as may be specified on your Order Form.
-=-

Also, the option for a paper bill to be sent is not offered because we withdraw the amount for your monthly service automatically and do not offer a paper bill prior to that. You are able to view your invoices and history in your MyAccount area if you have questions or need to print out a copy for your records.

If you signed a contract with them then they are within their rights to charge the early cancellation fee. It's not a ripoff and it's not unfair.
