This is my second complaint. I did not tell the entire situation in my first one, but as I read the other complaints I realized they were scammed as much as the others...maybe even worse. So I will try to save others from being ripped off by COCOA HYUNDAI. Here is the rest of the complaint. Justin the salesman said the warranty that comes with a new car is 100,000mi/10 yrs...no extra charge.
When I got in to the finance man Brian, he gave me a contract to sign. It said 11.50% which I questioned because my credit being what it is, I expected it to be higher. He said no, go ahead & sign, I am pretty I will get you that. So I signed. I was signing and he was talking VERY fast & I was lost in the process. I told him over & over I was not understanding. But I finished and stupidly so.
I am a disabled senior female & I believe he was purposely tying to confuse me. After everything was signed, I was told to wait as my car was coming from Jacksonville. I went carefully through all the paperwork while I waited. That is when I saw a "SERVICE CHARGE FOR $1726.00" added on the contract. I went right back into the finance guy's office and confronted him. With that he grabbed the contract out of my hands and threw it into the shredder. He said that was a charge to extend my warranty from 60,000mi/5 yrs. So the salesman LIED TO ME!!
He came out with another contract MINUS THE $1726.00 BUT NOW THE INTEREST WENT UP TO 16.50%. I should have walked but I had no way home. AND HE KNEW THAT! He was going to get the money out of me one way or the other. This dealership is nothing but thieves. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THEM!! I now own a car I HATE, that I have no way to pay for, and they are laughing all the way to the bank. I HATE COCOA HYUNDAI!!

If it's identical, then it's also not a scam.

"The report I wrote is completely accurate to every detail"
I never questioned the accuracy of your complaint.
"Don't post things unless you know what you are talking about."
Wrong lesson. The lesson is never send an easily submissive buyer into a car dealer alone.
"said she would be coming in on Monday to purchase the white 2010 Hyundai Accent that was shown on line"
Never say that to a car dealer. Tell them you are interested in test-driving the car; never tell them you are coming in to purchase the car.
"Cocoa Hyundai took total advantage of her"
Probably correct but still a case of buyer's remorse.

You are right

I dropped my mom off at Cocoa Hyundai because my brother (he is 40) spoke to Jason, the online sales mgr. on Friday and said she would be coming in on Monday to purchase the white 2010 Hyundai Accent that was shown on line at their site. Both him and I thought this was what was going to happen. But they told herwhen I dropped her off that she did not have good enough credit to buy a used car and she would have to buy a new one. So she did as she had no way home. You have no idea what her life is like. 11.5% for her was good. She has been through hell. And this whole transaction was one more thing. She also did not have anything to trade in as her car had been totalled in an accident previously caused by two 19 year old girls flying through their stop sign. Don't post things unless you know what you are talking about. Cocoa Hyundai took total advantage of her and the whole situation.

- Buyers Remorse 101
Your report may be accurate, but it just shows how you had several opportunities to get up and WALK OUT.
Not having a ride home is not a valid reason to buy a car. You got to the dealer somehow right? Bus or Taxi? Take the same way back. Trade In? you didn't complete the deal so require your car back. If they refuse call 911(you would have your car back in about 30 seconds). Friend or Relative? They got you there they will pick you up.
You need to fully understand the paperwork and concequences BEFORE you sign. If you don't understand, don't sign until you do. Yes this includes how much it is actually going to cost you. If you still can't then you may need to take someone with you who can. And I am not just saying this because of your age or any disabilities you may have. This is the same advise that everyone should follow.
By the way if you thought 11.5% was low, perhaps a new car was not in the cards for you because that is still high.

Buyers Remorse??? I think NOT.

The report I wrote is completely accurate to every detail. The deal was a complete RIP OFF and the ONLY buyers remorse I experienced was the moment I opened the door and entered Cocoa Hyundai.

Buyer's remorse--not a rip off

"I should have walked but I had no way home."
That makes no sense because the car was not there so you still needed a ride home.
"He was going to get the money out of me one way or the other."
Not if you were assertive instead of submissive.
"I now own a car I HATE"
That tends to happen when someone buys a car sight unseen.
This is a case of buyer's remorse, not a rip off.
