Compu-Electronics Sales They sold me a laptop that does not work. They told me to come back in 15 minutes and they were not going to give me the laptop on display. When I returned took it home nothing worked. eastlake, Ohio

On 12/06/09 there was a sale at the Indiana convention Center which you had to pay $8 to get in. I went to the section where they were selling computers most of which were laptops. There was one sales guy who seemed to be in charge and aggresive anyway. I bought a laptop because the price was very attractive ($199) and he said you have to charge the battery for 24 hours before using it. I did that but the computer did not work. When I called the company they told me you should have charged the battery with the computer ON. I told the "rep" you did not tell me that and she told me that is my own problem. At that point I snapped. I will take all measures to make sure this does not happen to someone else. I am also working on all legal channels to get these ripoffs off the market. They might change the name but if they return to Indiana I will find them and expose their shrewd ways. In the mean time please do not buy anything from them no matter what state.

Dear Customer,

The information that you were given at the computer show would have been very specific about the battery and how to charge it.  If you purchased a laptop from us and the cost was $199, then the battery probably was discharged from the manufacturer which could fail if not charged properly.  Also, on all of our liquidated computers/laptops, the BATTERY IS NOT COVERED under the warranty!!  We inform you this at the computer show, and it is written on your receipt that you sign for the sales agreement.  Most manufacturer's won't cover the battery if it is not charged properly or trained.  However, I will not have any problems with trying to help you with this situation, and can possibly help you with getting another battery at little to no cost!!  I don't know what words were exchanged if you called us, but, what I can do is try to resolve your issue that you are having.  We are not shrewd or unavailable!!  We have more than one way to be contacted, (phone, email, and fax).  Please try and use one of these methods to contact us.  Start by calling us again, and then try faxing over a copy of your invoice to us so that we can see who you are and what you purchased.
