I am more like was a student at the Computertraining.edu Newark, DE campus. I spent all my savings and some on this school. School closed its doors with out any warning what so ever.Should have know something was up when about 3 weeks ago we received an email(OF COURSE NO PHONE CALLS WHAT A BUNCH OF COWARDS TO PUT IT NICELY) that said they were closing that campus AFTER my class was finished and said it would not affect our completion at all. They got rid of all the office people at that time said nothing in class about it. got an email from some guy in Chicago saying he was going to be our new job placement person. I feel SCAMMED and very disappointed about this whole situation.Had a feeling it was a SCAM from the first visit, after her whole speel making everyone fill out a student loan form and trying to get cosigners. Calling everyother day to see if I was seriously interested in the program. I know that back in october  when I signed up they had to know they were about to go under. Well any way guess I need to contact the state dept. of ed to see what kind of refunds I will get if any. Was really looking forward to changing my life for the better with a new career. HEY COMPUTERTRAINING HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU TOO  (NOT)

CED is good for what you go for

AUTHOR: jbmiller100 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 26, 2012

I understand the previous post about the use of CED solutions, but I really don't agree with that. I have attended 2 classes at CED during my IT career. Both were great. One of them was a straight Cisco and the class was attended by a wide variety of students. There was one person that had ZERO IT background and he thought that this was a guarantee of a cert. It was not. He failed because he had no grasp on the material and didn't make an effort to learn. CED provided good quality training, all the equipment you could have needed, and they even offered after hours support if you were training and needed help.
The other class I attended was a CISSP course. Just for your information, there is no brain dump for the CISSP and I dare you to try and find one. There were 4 of us out of 12 that passed.

I passed all the certifications I attended and the quality of instruction was exactly what I needed.

I do agree that if you have 2 years to spare then going to a traditional school and learning all the theory would be ideal, but the average age and experience are not a standard 20 year old. Most of us are professionals that don't have the time to attend class and we already have the training but just need the additional training for the cert tests.

I am planning on attending another course at CED soon.

Do not go to CED Solutions, theres no short cuts to your education!

to be honest, there is no short cuts to our education like these boot camps state there is, go to a university or technical school. what is a brain dump? a brain dump is a collection of the questions and answers from the actual tests and is considered cheating. CED solutions still have you memorize brain dumps which is a violation of the tests& can get you in hot water & is extremely unprofessional, which is why they have such a high passing rate. when they state they have such a high passing rate, it sounds like they have a great legit program, and you got a great shot at success, but really your just memorizing the answers to the test, which youll be dead meat when you get into the field and you try to fix the network problem with answer letter "B". learned a lot, but not enough to pass the tests without brain dumps. real exams need experience and troubleshooting experience to pass. 14 days isnt enough to learn all that. very disappointed, misleading advertising.
1year later, resit all my classes to try to pass exams. haven;t achieved my 11 certifications without the brain dumps. still only have 2 certifications achieved, & one of those is a retake, I have no more vouchers left, and failed all of my other exams. exams are $125 a pop and up. lost $10k from them because of there misleadingness and scam. its a school that really doesnt care about you clearly cuz there using brain dumps, its a get rich fast scam in their favor. over priced 4 what u get. you can spend $10k for a normal two year technical school in computers & probably be better off. at ced a microsoft, cisco, & comptia security combo is $18k in about 30-50 days, buts its about a bachelors degree worth of certifications, if you can achieve them, but half is brain dumps so not exactly.(seattleuniversity bachelors degree in computers i mcse, ccna, cissp, about the same) to much info 4 time frame. no real cisco equip racks even when advertised learn on real cisco equipment, later removed from website. only reason why i purchased cisco cert class, but no equipment, just simulator and brain dump, and a instructor that just read from a book real fast, didnt tell to highlight anything. instructor answered all questions though, and tried hard. had a price quote for my package, and said they would keep that quote for me if it changes price through out my schooling, half way through my schooling, they say they have canceled half of my coarse and do not plan to bring them back online, & they were trying to charge me more money for less certifications and training. saliemae loan lender also wouldnt accept my loan because i didnt have a cosigner, im 24 years old, im a grown man, i dont need no cosigner. saliemae is the only lender for this school. my advise is to get FASA and go to a two-four year college, and if you like the IT world, then go from there and go for a masters or a phd. you might not even like computers any more once you find out what the work world is like for these things.
