I'm a regretful customer of the Conn's Appliance company. I bought a tv from them at the Plano Tx location. Everything worked fine for over a year. I bought the extended warranty just incase something happened. It did! I bought a HD tv for the HDMI technology. The HDMI board stopped working after a year in. They've been out at least 4 times to repair the same problem. They even missed the tv up to the point I couldn't watch it any more. I had to watch tv in my bedroom for a month until they came back out.
I bought the warranty to protect myself. They DON'T hold up their end. I've called corporate all they do is try to set you up for another service. I've had tech's from conn's and sears out to service the tv. No one can fix the problem. The last time out they didn't fix the problem. They called the tv's manufacturer the told him it was a cable box compatibility problem. That's a lie. The tv worked just fine over a year with the same box! He told me to use component cables. He said they give you the same picture. IT DOESN'T!
He said they can put a new part in the tv. They've done that 3 times already! I bought the tv for the HDMI. I wouldn't have wasted my time buying the tv if I could use the component cables. He even went so far as to ask me to get a new cable box. The one I have works just fine. It would cost me more money to get a new one. They never once said anything about a compatibility issue until now. The fourth time out. They didn't even replace the part they made a phone call to the manufacturer and left.
I still can't use my HDMI or anything else that uses the HDMI. It says in the warranty if they cannot fix the problem I could get a new tv. The tv I have is an older tv. They don't even make it anymore. They lied to me. They said I cold get a new tv. After the second time out they said it was not fixable. The whole time I got run around until they found parts for my tv. I had to watch tv in my bedtroom for a whole month. I had the HDMI problem and a convergence problem.
They couldn't fix the HDMI and missed the convergence up so badly I had to watch tv in my bedroom. I called the Conn's service dept. in the Dalls area. They told me I was going to get a tv. I never did. They mad me wait a whole month thinking I was going to get a new tv. They were waiting for parts to put it my tv. If I had refused the parts then what? What happens if I go get another cable box and it does the same thing? They don't care about he consumer.
Nobody wants products from other country's. What happenens when your done wrong by the ol' USA? They say they give excellent customer service. THAT'S A LIE! People write these complaints about these companies and nothing gets done. These companies still make millions of dollars from us. We can't do anything about it. Why doesn't the ol' USA help us out? The bottom line is DON'T BUY FROM CONN'S EVER! It's easy to lie to someone when you don't have to deal with the problem yourself. I wish the shoe was on the other foot!
