Currently, we are ONLY allowed to use a company called CoServ (for electric) in the apartment I live in. They charged me 350 for the month of January! We were out of town for 2.5 weeks in January leaving EVERYTHING turned off. How can our bill be so outrageous? Keep in mind this is a TINY apartment. Every bill has been 150 or less and that is for regular usage from me and my kids. I explained to CoServ that we weren't even in town and and they said - "too bad". I asked them to please come to my apartment and prove usage or to re-read meter and they will NOT do it. I've emailed 3 times and they have not responded. I know they rec'd my emails due to automated responses confirming that they rec'd them.

So anyway, I went to BBB website and filed a complaint against them. I paid the 350 because I didn't want them to cut off my electricity but I am asking for a partial refund. Obviously, I'm willing to pay reasonable usage amount. When I was on the BBB website I found out the following: They have a grade of an F from BBB due to so many complaints. In fact, there were 21 complaints just this quarter! AND...they will not even respond to BBB.

I would like some assistance getting this corrupt company investigated. It looks like the BBB can't even get them to address all the complaints that are rolling in against them. I've contacted Corporate Office of apartment complex I live in (because he's a family friend) and have alerted them of what has been going on. Contracts can be broken, I'm sure.
