Auto Renewal Rip-off and slow and no response.
I want to warn everyone about their bad business practice of auto-renewing without initial contact. Their customer service is unforgiving when it comes to customers who have been with them and paid on-time for years. They enforced an early penalty release with us, making us pay for 75% of the annual cost. This could have been easily forgiven and I will remember them for a long time! Further my customer service call with Manny Rodriguez was never returned.
Please do not sign any alarm contracts with a company that enforces an auto-renewal. There ARE much better options and much better companies.
Most importantly we have seen a reduction in performance. Counterforce when contacted by the alarm system has a long response time and when the call does arrive it is difficult to understand the person on the other side.

In the alarm industry it is a standard across the board for all monitoring companies to begin with a 3 yr (36 month) contract. That can be seen on the websites of the major monitoring providers.
It has been noted on ADT and Brinks websites that it is a minimum 36 month contract at a certain rate to attain the special offers. If lower monitoring cost is desired, I'm sure that it would be done at a longer term.
This is of course, I would imagine, to offset the cost the monitoring company incurrs for the equipment and labor of the technician.
Most contractual disagreements happen when the customer is suddenly dissatisfied and is looking for a way out of their agreement, without having to pay. Most disputes are easily resolved if the complaintant would have read the contract terms prior to or in the least within the restraints of the cancellation period. The cancellation period for Counterforce would have to have occured within the first three days of signing the contract. Matter of fact, one of the forms that is signed is a cancellation form receipt, acknowledging that you have been given the form with which to cancel.
Under the terms and conditions header, it would also stipulate of the auto-renewal.
