So.

I am a current Cydcor slave, but I'll be quitting tomorrow. I don't want this report in any way to reflect badly on the specific company with whom I'm working, Strictly Advertising. You have read reports about individual companies who are honest, decent, and forth-coming: they are talking about Strictly. They never lied directly, they never presented the business as anything other than what it is (after I was in training), and they are good and decent people.
BUT
Misrepresentation isn't really the issue. Any of us who lasted to the end of the first day of observation knew in our heart of hearts what was going on: we knew we were signing up to be exploited, to work with no security, and to give our lives and money for our superiors and for Avi Roth. And we did it because we bought that dream they sold us. That was the first real sales job we saw when we started: the way they sold us the dream of financial secdurity, riches, and being BETTER than all the other 9-5 slobs out there. They sold us a shortcut, and we, brothers and sisters, knowing better, swallowed the bait anyway. We were blinded by greed: we were willing to be exploited so someday we could exploit others. It's how angler fish catch food. And yeah, they lied about how everyone who wants too makes it, and about how many people make it, and about how much people are making in your office each week. But they didn't lie about anything illegally.

And THATS the scary thing: everything they do is legal. And that legality is the basis of the whole organization. A vendor hires cydcor to sell the product. The vendor is not responsible for anything that Cydcor does to sell: it's limited liability taken to a whole new level. Cydcor, in turn, farms out the selling to a child company: now, Cydcor is immune from prosecution. The company liscences YOU, the 'employee' to sell the product: since you are not a direct employee, the company is immune from prosecution. Only you are not immune. So you sell. If something goes wrong, they fire you: they don't have to pay unemployment, since you never officially worked for them to begin with. If you make the sell, the company (and Cydcor) get a cut. And because Cydcor (and the company) don't pay you a salary, it doesn't cost them anything to run the business: it's capitalism without the capital.
And because Cydcor doesn't pay you, they don't have to charge the vendor very much. Cydcor is a lot cheaper. And because of that, they will grow. They're already huge, but they'll take over more and more of the market, because they can underbid anyone else in the business. Traditional sales jobs, with salaries, pensions, and benefits will disappear: replaced by cheaper, more exploitable workers. It's like office temps taking over secretaries and minor executives: inevitable, and scary.
So, that's the ghost in the system. You take all the risks, do all the work, until you get promoted (just hang in there!) and you can take money from the poor schmucks you'll get to exploit. Except that Cydcor will still be exploiting you anyway, taking money from your company while you pay all the expenses.
So good luck out there, and be careful.

#5 UPDATE EX-employee responds

With all due respect!

AUTHOR: Lisa - (U.S.A.)

Congratulations on your decision to quit! For the people reading this, I'm going to make it as easy as possible by using YC~to mean, "Your comment," and MR~to mean, "My response."
YC: They never lied directly, they never presented the business as anything other than what it is {after I was in training.} they are good and decent people.

MR: So before you were in training they lied to get you there and good and decent people always mislead you to get you to join them, right?

YC: Misrepresentation isn't really the issue.
MR: Misrepresentation is indeed the issue. If it wasn't, it wouldn't be so prominent

YC: Any of us who lasted to the end of the first day of observation knew in our heart of hearts what was going on: we knew we were signing up to be exploited, to work with no security, and to give our lives and money for our superiors and for Avi Roth. We were willing to be exploited so someday we could exploit others.
MR: I didn't even hear of Avi Roth on my first day. Nor did I know that I was going to be exploited or sexually harassed and I certainly didn't plan on ever exploiting others!

YC: We were blinded by greed.
MR: Speak for yourself!!! Wanting a better life for myself, my family, my causes which include among others, the underpriviledged, in no way make me a greedy person.

YC: And yeah, they lied about how everyone who wants too makes it, and about how many people make it, and about how much people are making in your office each week. But they didn't lie about anything illegally.
MR: So, in your own words, these, "Good and decent people," lied A LOT but because it might have just been morally wrong but not illegal, that makes it okay? In that case, may I ask why are you quitting?

YC: And because of that, they will grow. They're already huge, but they'll take over more and more of the market, because they can underbid anyone else in the business. Traditional sales jobs, with salaries, pensions, and benefits will disappear: replaced by cheaper, more exploitable workers.

MR: If that happens, that is indeed scary. However, it used to be a well~known fact that word of mouth advertising is either the best or the worst thing you can have going for you. This scam company screws over people from every angle. I've heard tell that there are restaurants that are ending honoring some of the coupons that Granton/Cydcor/Ds Max/Innovage/Ds- Max/Dsmax/Ds/Max have sold and that when someone called the manager of the restaurant, the manager was only at liberty to tell them that there was a breach of contract. That either Granton printed too many coupons, withheld certain coupons, sold them after the contract date or something to do in general with the contract they both had. They probably kept selling them after the contract had expired. Appearently these were sold in a rather high number in the area of the store because the poor manager said that he had been receiving a lot of compaints lately.

Then of course the number of people who have been scammed into working for them will continue to grow. With websites like this and The Aftermath, people will come together in force and together we can make a difference for the worse for BS Max and all their aliases! I included all their aliases earlier so anyone reading about them under this heading can know to look up ALL their aliases to see the magnitude of the situation!

When all is said and done, Patrick, I do appriciate that you took the time to write your opinion which most of the second part is right on. If you've worked for them long enough, {which doesn't have to be that long,} to have been hurt by it, please share your experiences with us below.

If more like you write their will be more awareness.

If more like you tell others about it there will be more awareness.
