Debt XS ripoff Company has very poor customer service, refuses to update status of my account, refund balance Addison Texas

Dear Attorney General

The purpose of this letter is to report Debt XS; A Texas based credit repair organization. I willingly contracted with this debt settlement agency in August of 2003 to help my pay off some outstanding credit card accounts. I became unemployed in Nov. of 2003 and had to withdraw from the program with Debt XS. On 12-12-2003 I faxed a request to the company for a refund of the $954.00 that I had paid to them and received a call from their accounting department and was told that I would receive notification by 1-12-2004 as to what the status of my refund would. When I called to inquire about my account, (because I had not heard from the company by 1-12-2004) I was very rudely told by a customer service representative who would only identify herself as Vicki, that she did not know when the company would respond to my inquiry, nor would she allow me to speak to her supervisor.

I think that I have every right to know what is going on with my account if the company is still in possession of any money that belongs to me, the company was very accommodating when it was trying to get my business, but when it is time to make adjustments for whatever reason then they are not so accommodating, which is good to know because after I was again employed, I would have dealt with them again. In lieu of the very poor customer service I received I will not deal with them again ever!! And would advise that no one else use their service either, unless you want to experience more problems.

Again, this company owes me $954.00 that they are under the impression that they do not have to respond to inquiries in a timely fashion or treat their clients with the respect that they deserve, Debt XS seems to be another predatory credit repair agency. Please advise me on what I may do to extricate myself from this situation, and warn others about this company
