I bought a dell dimension computer(order#756476091)(customer#66502761)Shipped 01-04-2006.It has had a constant problem of being operational from date received.I have contacted dell tech. support several times(some times online, other times by phone when computer failed)Dec.2006(computer still in warranty)I phoned dell tech. support(computer windows would not open to permit online support)for help regarding problem.

Technican told me he would call me back the next day with answer to problem. He failed to do so.I had to call Him.He still did not have answers.By this time I was getting desperate as warranty experation was Jan.4,2007(1 yr. from shipping date)
I called again Jan.2,2007 (two days before warranty experation. dell technical support told me since the problem could not be resolved, dell would ship me a new computer, even gave instructions for packing and shipping old computer back to dell.

In 3to 4 days I called dell to get shipping and arrival data.Guess what,Dell technical support would not talk to me nor would they let me speak to anyone else. Their reason, my warranty had expired.

In essence, dell tech. support lied to me until warranty had expired. Is this the way dell operates? Do they condone tech. support to make such promises? If they do ,the dell corp. is in deep trouble. If they don't,Dell is still responsible for having such people on their payroll.

Thank you for letting me tell my story. My speeker phone was on when this last conversation took place, and 3 other people heard every word.I have a hearing problem and use hearing aids, thus the use of a speeker phone.

Dell PC - Constant problem of being operational?

AUTHOR: Wilson - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, January 26, 2007

I would like to know exactly what were the problems with the Dell PC as "being operational". The cause of the author's computer problems could be hardware, corrupted software, Windows operating system or computer viruses. Were the problems ever properly diagnosed and corrected?

If the problem is a corrupted operating system then the problem is not Dell's as the PCS all have the same operating system, Windows XP (home, multimedia or professional version depending on the PC system purchased).

Regarding the tech support callback, I doubt Dell's outsourced tech support reps in India will call back customers in the United States (or Canada) due to the international long distance charges and high number of Dell customers who need hardware or software help.
