On Thursday, July 9th, 2008 we spoke to Destination Movers' customer representative, Becky, concerning our quote for a move from NYC to MD. She assured us it would be same-day delivery, and gave us a price estimate of about $1,300. The movers were due at our apartment between 8:00-9:00am, and a dispatcher was to call to confirm arrival time the day before.
Nobody called. When we called them they gave us a new time estimate of 9:00-11:00am.

The drivers called the next morning and told us they'd be there around 12:00pm. They showed up after 1:00pm...made us repack various items based on packing regulations that had not been mentioned to us...and charged us a total of $2,400--based on the accumulation of additional boxes.

When we asked the drivers when they'd be arriving to MD they asked us to contact the dispatcher for a delivery time. The dispatcher told us our same day delivery was impossible, that Becky was mistaken and on vacation, and our new delivery date would be the next evening...The next evening we were told we'd be getting our furniture the next morning...and the next morning we were told we'd be getting our furniture in the evening...etc!

The person we spoke on the phone with repeatedly gave us the name Max Wells and stated he was a manager. He was rude and impatient, acknowledged nothing of what was promised to us, and offered no sympathy for our situation.

When we tried to relay our frustration he responed with: "We're a moving company, not pizza delivery", and when we asked if they'd be willing to compensate us with a partial refund for the inconvenience he responded with: "Your compensations is this: You'll get your stuff tomorrow or in 21 days...your choice."

We're still waiting on our stuff 3 days later...Honestly don't know if the movers will be here tomorrow...or in three weeks...or ever!

This has been the most stressful, inconvenient moving experience either of us have ever had...and the customer service from a company that prides itself on customer satisfaction has been a pure nightmare!
