DeVry (as well as Keller, Apollo, Western Career College) plagiarizes their content provided in their online-learning environment. This is how it works. For online courses, they hire outside SMEs (subject Matter Experts) to write the content for their online courses (lectures, introductions, quizzes, finals, labs, etc...). Then the SMEs send their content to the OCM (online curriculum manager) who then send it to the ID (Instructional Designer) who places it into the course for the copywriter to edit. What happens is that the SME copies material form many sources such as the internet, Google books, online journals, even Wikipedia. It is the job of the OCM to watch for and detect the plagiarism. But they do not. They only run the lectures through the plagiarism website turnitin.com (TII) and it is company policy to allow to 10% of the content to be stolen. However the reality is TII catches more than 10%, sometimes as high as 21% and the OCMs simply ignore it.
How do I know about this? I was employed as a contract copywriter and fired because I discovered the plagiarism on accident. When I reported it, the OCMs were angered and had me removed.
DeVry uses stolen material and resells it as their own for their online schools. As I later found out, this is a systemic problem within the corporation and anyone who brings it to the attention of management is either forced out or fired.

If you are taking an online course from DeVry (as well as Keller, Apollo, Western Career College), then 10-20% of the content you are reading is plagiarized.
