This company is supposed to help you consolidate educational loans. The application process was not hard however the approval process takes forever. It also is very confusing to the consumer on what they recieve as communication.

One year ago my daughter consolidated her student loans from Unsub and Sub loans from Sallie Mae and AES. We received confirmation that it was consolidated. She also received a letter stating when the repayment period would begin in June of 2011. This was the first communication since the approval letter.

In June of 2011 she received an Interest Statement showing a total unpaid interest and a note that tells about making a payment to reduce interest captialization. It does not indicate that it is a bill, it leads you into thinking that you have the option of making a payment or not. She did not receive any billing statements until October of 2011 at which time they informed her she was 142 days past due.

She was able to speak to someone at their customer service center. The clerk claims that her account shows that all bills have been mailed and that there were various emails that were sent also. The clerk assured her that there wasn't any late charges assessed to her account but it had been reported to the credit bureau.

That email was checked and also the spam was checked and it does not show any communications from this department. I have prior correspondence up to the approval letter the letter showing when the repayment process will begin but no billing statements for the months of June July August or September where are they? Why would I keep all the other correspondence and toss the billing statements? Does that even make any sense? I also did not receive any phone calls from a collection agency. As I recall the same thing happened when I consolidated my Parent Plus loan too.

As my credit report and her credit report will show when pulled we are not dead beets when it comes to paying our bills. Please don't misunderstand we are not perfect either but it would be a rarity for us not pay something. It would be usually due to something like this that we have missed a payment.

This department thinks they are perfect and everyone else out there is not. It doesn't matter if you are resonable they are not. And of course because their computer has a log of all correspondence sent it must have been. Heaven for bid that they acknowledge that humans actually work for them to input the information on the computer. Here's a news flash no human is infailable. Your people working for you can and do make errors your just willing to cover it up by accusing the consumer of being unresponsible.

What I would like to happened is that her credit be exhonorated the reality I'm expecting is absolutely nothing will be done or this will somehow once again be flipped back and we are the faulty party when that is the farthest thing from the truth. However, I don't think we are the first people that this has happened too. I would like for some to investigate exactly how many people have consolidated their loans and what percentage have been late in making their first payments through this agency. I believe this agency does this purposefully to ruin peoples credit rating.

They are credit crashers so beware when using them to consolidate your loans.

first of all, i dont give a sh*t about rose!!dont know her but i guess she does work for my company but i will venture to say her name and address are fictitous, mine are! second, we care about your issue as much as you care about us. if the borrower demands employees get paid fairly so they knows their loans are handled right, we will be happy to have lenghty calls to hear the whinne fest and help as much as possible. it is difficult to help when people yell incessantly at things we cant fix. as for my spelling, never mind. at least i dont have a degree that instead of helping me better myself gives me more excuses to whinne and whine more. there is a reason why department of ed doesnt give a rats a*s about whether or not a borrower has a job in their field. people who get student loans, quit in the middle of their degree and still complain about not having a job when they know they can get ANY job and at least pay their loans, are bringing their country down. the economy needs people who pay their bills not people who complain about them. yes, you can sue us but you better have the best lawyer ever and class action?sure, you'll get 2 dollars settlement, congrats and good luck going against THE US DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. as for the employees who will be taking over when our sinking ship goes down, it will be people from other countries who give less of a crap about the cry babies like the ones we deal with. good luck telling someone from india that life isnt fair and to allow you to complete your second degree before you get off your a*s and look for a job in ANY field! they will hang up.

and yet another comment

I have to go with JollyOcean on this one.   As a customer, I dont give a rats a*s about your working conditions. When I call you, all I care about is getting my problem solved. If I tell  you my problem

and you cant help me, then offer to send the call to a supervisor who is actually working that day! You dont need to argue with me or explain. Just do it. That gets you off the hook and on to another call, and someone with some intelligence (God willing) and authority may be able to help me.  On the other hand, it seems common among those who report problems that a CSR either wont or cant transfer to a supervisor.  Which is it for you?

To Stacey -  My student loan payment is manageable because I worked out a payment plan based on income.  Otherwise, it would be triple my house payment.  But I knew that when I signed up so I have no one to blame but myself. Have you tried that? I also had a deferment for several years while unemployed due to health problems.  That worked out pretty easily.

And am I crazy, or are Rose and Roccecrucci the same person? Is it possible there are TWO such illiterate persons posting here? If so, we have a sorry state of affairs for sure. If you cant spell whining correctly, you shouldnt have left junior high.

As for roccecruccis response, Im assuming it was directed at Stacey since it references the second degree.  If you had any knowledge of Stacey (who is a frequent poster here) youd realize the second degree is an MSW (Master of Social Work) which is the required degree to get a job in her field.

As for the OP, there is no chance youll get your daughters situation remedied.  The same thing happened to my daughter (no statements for 3 months, right after repayment started), so I think there must be a glitch in their system somewhere. Sad,  but true. Its happened to too many people for it to be all our fault.

Salary

AUTHOR: JollyOcean - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, January 26, 2012

When I call to get a problem solved, I don't care about how much you get paid or what happens to you after I hang up. I care about getting my problem solved. You obviously have issues since every post you've made states something either about your salary or about how you are treated. If the case is to always speak to a supervisor, that what is your purpose?? They should just get rid of all the "representatives" so I can talk to someone who apparently "makes money". NO ONE CARES ABOUT YOUR SALARY! Take the other woman's advice and get a new job if you are that unhappy in your life.

Do you understand that half of the customer's anger comes from waiting on the line for over an hour? No, you can't fix that, but the company should. And no one is harping all on you. We get that every company has problems.

Glad you clump everyone in to the same category of pregnant losers who never pay there bills. You should be ashamed of yourself, or maybe you are included in this category??

For someone who is a representative of a company, you sure do a lot of trash talk about them. Get a life.

first of all you signed for the loan. how can college students who think of acquiring a second degree ever sign for loans and pretend about not knowing that loans carry interest and interest is high. maybe you should skip college altogether if you cant figure that out. noone ever wants to pay their bill and they lower payments, postpone payment and that just puts money in the companys pocket. the sad part is that when you guys go buy a home then it occurs to you to try to fix the loan so it doesnt hurt your credit. what a joke. you signed, it is assumed you can read when you signed for the loan so deal with it. if you get pregnant or do not work in your degree too bad, flip burgers and make payments and get rid of the loan. our company is doing bad and we do need to fix things bec we cant help as much as we want to when they pay us per call. they limit our calls. we come home with 1 dollar and hour bec some stupid person didnt read their terms or moved without telling us and didnt get their bill and instead of fixing the problem they whinne for an hour and then hang up?go ahead and call your tv stations. they will agree we come up short in this equation. recently one of our reps got yelled at for an hour bec our company withdrew 39000.00 from their account. do you thing the person asked for a supervisor>\?no, they bitched at the employee who didnt get paid for the hour they got yelled and problem NOT SOLVED, person never asked for a supervisor. the person who really could have helped. sad, sad, sad.

Thanks Jeanski - these Student Loan programs think I can pay them 60% percent of my net salary!! Are you serious?  Guess I could live in the dark and eat worms.  I borrowed XX amount now I owe 500% more than I borrowed???? If I had known that I would have never ever gotten any student loan.  But in order to further my second degree I had no choice.

AND before anyone says I deserve it - get real.

POSTED: Wednesday, January 11, 2012

it is great that you spoke to the only intelligent employee, pretty sure though that i you dont know me and pretty d**n sure you never worked at my company either. try it on for size one day. i am pretty sure you would feel the same way. we get serious insults for ridiculous things. do you think the company pays us per call for your sake!so we can provide excellent customer service? our monthly reviews also include talk time and if it is high we get a bad review. if dont make at least 8dls an hour we get subsidized so we get paid still 8dls by the company, if it happens in two consecutive paycheks(byweekly)we get fired. dare you to get a job in a center like that. it would be just great.

If people like Rose are handling our student loan issues, it's no wonder there are so many problems. A person this illiterate can't possibly have the skills to analyze a problem such as the OP reports, and then come up with a solution.

I, too, have had problems with Direct Loan, but was able to work them out. I guess I got the one employee at the call center who was actually intelligent.

thanks so much

AUTHOR: Rose - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, January 10, 2012

thanks for the tip i am looking for a new job. i am not the owner of the company otherwise why would i pay myself the sorry wages they pay us. second, the whinning was done by you first . i can talk about how my credit report is flawless but am i going to show it to you? and funny the same thing happened with your own loan. what a huge coincidence. direct loans must be targeting your highly important family and the loans you promissed to pay. look at your ridiculous scenario, why would direct loans want to crash your credit plse explain what the gain would be? we are not related to any company that repairs credit, we have default prevention and we take several steps before even reporting to the credit bureaus. i suggest you and your little darling spend some time at a job like mine so you can learn how we keep track of the mailings and calls and emails to you before we even report. as far as making up my mind about who calls before we speak, not true, after we speak -as well as after i read your post-did i make up my mind. thanks for the suggestion of looking for a job, if i may, suggest also, your darling daughter can also get herself a new credit score. i get a new job and she gets new credit and we are both happy. if i were you, since you need lowlife call centre employees to help you with your problems i would try to be brief and not argumentative when the reps help you. did you ever thing that we were getting screwed by our employer? our company changed computer systems to a system run by nelnet that did awful things to account like disclose your banking info to others , made accounts past due with unnacredited payments, now that is happening right now and i can say it is us, yet people call to curse and yell at us instead of speaking to a supervisor that can easily contact dept of ed and change things for the better. we dont run direct loans and we can ony do so much when our IT department and management is screwing everything up. people are compaining to us telling us the government this and that but the ony response that matters is to ask for a super at the beguinning of call, dont even verify info first and then ask for another supervisor. then request the department of education get involved. dept of ed number for complaints is 8004333243 also a good number to call.

Well exactly how can I respond  to that?  Let me just say you're rebutal speaks for itself.  I do not believe you are the owner of this company if you are you should fire yourself for posting something so unprofessional.  There's a saying that  goes like this "the customer is always right"  most professional companies live by this motto.  You apparently have made up your mind that the person calling into your call center is already wrong before you even pick up the phone and you have already stereo typed everyone into the "loser" catagory.   Your system is not as fail proof as you seem to think.  Here is the rest of the story:  No other billing statements have come in the mail to date after the one claiming the loan was in default.  Want to know why?  Because the loan is not repayment until April of 2012.  So you tell me where the screw up is ?  Any professional truly would have done a thorough investigation before adding a response to this posting and would treat everyone calling in with repect no matter what their status in society and definately would not whine about how little they are paid.

first of all,  the people you deal with at the call center GET PAID PER CALL. we get a dollAR 34 CENTS per call at the most. one hour has sixty minutes and 10 of them are used by people that have excuses and whinning then the customer service is already gone. do you think we want to feed our families?of course if you call and ask about this you have to get an escalated call-meaning ask for a supervisor off the bat because they get paid per hour. make sure to call and ask for super once and then for super again and you will get an hourly person. also, our billing statements are system generated and we test the system ALL THE TIME.  since you got all the other correspondence my bet is the billing statements were also received but thrown away thinking they were of no importance. that happens as well especially on accounts where the borrower doesnt get the mail but mommy and daddy dearest do. cut the umbilica cord, request a copy oif the rights and responsibibilities that your kid signed when she PROMISED TO PAY THE LOAN BACK. as long as we mail the statements we follow due dilligence. the borrowers burden is to know their due date-BUY YOUR PRINCESS A CALENDAR and if she doesnt get the statement, she can mail or pay online-buy her a pen so she can write down the address. people dont give a thing about their credit until they get to buy a house or car and they get denied and then they ponder upon why their loans defaulted or is past due. please teach your kid responsibility, i am certain the club doesnt send her a letter to remind her to go get wasted . by the way, most of out calers are women who vcant pay their oan bec they got pregnant and dropped out of school and cant finish whAT THEY STARTED and the parents as wel as themselves take the frustation on us for the kids behaving ike loosers.
