I paid for my ex daughter in law for directv about a 10 months ago. She has her own account number and she does all on the account. Her account is now turned over to a collection agency. Over the past weekend, Directv has put these charges to my cc.  The original cc I used was cancelled and I don't know how they got my new number if they did or just attached to follow the new one.

I called and they took forever and disconnected me 2 times, took over a hour.  Said they didn't know how it got on there.  I do not have a current Directv account for about 1 1/2 years, my was always paid on time and no issues. Since she did not pay, directv is trying to collect $458 to my cc.  My credit card has a limit of $500 and only card I have. Mostly a emergency card say for airline ticket in case I have to go take care of my elderly mother in AZ.

I told direcv I was contacting them before the bank to get it taken off.  They said they couldn't do that.  Sorry and we will look into it.  I said someone used my card.  Fraud. I called Bank of American and they said nothing they could do as it was pending and no reference number set up.  Said soon a it hit then I could file dispute and it would be credit back to my account.  We will see, 5-10 business days.

I ask directv for the collection agency name and number but they said they didn't have that.  They hire the company to do this but I still got no answer.  I will gladly give the collections agency my ex daughter in law, address, phone number and place of work.

This stuff needs to be stopped.  I thought a one time charged and told them on the phone to take my cc number out of their files and it was not to be used again.  They said it would be done. My finances are not great and can not afford to pay for something that is not mine.  I only have social security in money for myself. Someone bigger then me or lots of me needs to get a law to stop them.  FRAUD! FRAUD.  I will never ue Directv again!  I will tell everyone I know of this!

Directv dispute

AUTHOR: geesewhat - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, November 28, 2012

Added to my credit card last Friday an amount of $440.10. These are charges on her account, acccount in her name,  since last May, 2012. Filed another for this amount, dispute on Monday with BofA.
So now balance of $864.52.  My credit card is only $500 limit, only one I own.  I had to cancell my card.
I am hanging in there but sure has caused me to cry and lose sleep and stressed for sure!  So now it is what it is and what is it going to take to get this fixed and soon.

POSTED: Tuesday, November 27, 2012

Yes it is fraud fraud fraud, if you are making a one time payment, then that is all it can be used for.  so just because its in their fine print it doesn't make it right or legal to take someones money who don't own the account, and yes direct tv can and should give you back yuur money because they did that to my husband amd i had to fight but they did refund all the money.. dont give up

It's your ex DAUGHTER-In-LAW that did this to you...

AUTHOR: Ken - (USA)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 20, 2012

When you signed and paid for the DirectTV service 10 months ago, you agreed to a 2 year contract with a pro-rated early cancellation fee.  You also agreed they could use whatever financial means you used to sign up could be used to collect amounts owed them....It's all legal, you should have read the contract. It's kind of like co-signing for a car...if the buyer defaults, YOU'RE stuck with the bill.

Thank your ex Daughter in law for the nice Christmas present. No RIPOFF here, except by her. NO, I DON'T work for DirectTV.

No FRAUD! FRAUD! here at all.
