Folks,

 I am writing as a longtime customer and I am not only unhappy and planning to leave. I am never going to recommend you folks as well.

 Here is why

 I have been a customer for over 10 years and my contract is coming up and spoke to your folks about what they could do to keep me. I spoke to my local cable company and get a apple for apples price. I call your company and a young lady said she would help me. This is what she said she would provide me. All I needed was a 12 month commitment.

 

1)       They offered me a new dish that would help with drop outs from storms

2)       They would lower my bill to $75 month for 6 months with these discounts

a)       6 month discount for all my premium channels

b)       12 month discount

c)       paperless discount

d)       moving discount

 

3)       NFL package at no charge

4)       4K upgrade no charge.

 

First they imputed the work order and when they had to redo they had to make a new order, this took about an hour. They also told me that they would fix the errors on rates. They never told me that there were any issues.

 

When the tech showed up today he told me there was no such dish(I was lied to)  they had no order for 4K and when I was told that there would be no charge would I like to have it done. I said yes and then was told I would lose my discounts. I spoke to a service person form outside the country and was no help and did not listen.   I was also on hold for 15 minutes waiting to speak to a manager.

 

When I was finally so frustrated I called your corporate office and was told there was NO way to speak to your corp location. When I did I was connected to a person in the US and he was a little more helpful however he could only give me so much help.

 

After a long conversation and told I needed a 24 commitment and only a 6month deep discount I decided to just wait till I finish my contract in Nov and drop your service. I expected some kind of accommodation to offset my issues and my years as a customer.

 

I have also been told that since ATT toke over there have been much feedback about lies and issues. I am surprised that this is the issue and you have turned me not only against DIRECTV I am also not considering switching to ATT wireless.

 

I also intend to put this out in the social world and I see that this again a trend.

The truth is hard to come by anymore and people usually believe what's told to them by Big Companies. I don't like wasting the customers time or my time. So you have to be up front with the customer, but anymore they believe what's told to them by Directv or DishNetwork.

 I've been in the Satellite Business for 32 years and we had rules to follow. But some people didn't like to follow those rules and they suffered for it along with the customer. We had to deal with chargebacks for what ever reason the customer decided to cancel their service.

I had two friends in the business one lost 60,000.00 in a two month period and the other lost 30,000.00 in a two month period. All because of chargebacks due to lying and sloppy installs. Both ended up going out of business and I lost touch with them.

Has it really become that hard to pickup the phone and call around to get to the truth.   

I don't know if any of have heard the announcement that AT&T made a few months ago. But the day is coming you wont need a satellite dish to get Directv. Plus I believe tha Dish is headed that way also. They won in a law suit the 500 MHz Frequncey and may be going to use Cell Towers to get heir service.
