Last month, directv took 180 dollars out of my prepaid visa card, with two charges a week apart. 100 for the first and 80 for the second. They simply took it out of my card without permission, no letter of collections or warning, nothing. I NEVER signed up for autopay. The most worst part is they somehow knew EXACTLY how much money i had on the card and took all of it. I had exactly 100 dollars that i put on just ONE DAY before they took it. same thing with the 80.

I forgot to give them the receiver when i cancelled service early and moved at the beginning of November last year (NOTE: i wanted to transfer service to my new place, but they were going to charge a fee of 200 dollars!). So today, i just called them and they will send boxes to return the equipment. They say they will send me a check of 135 dollars (NOT the full 180 they stole) after receiving the equipment back.

So thats why, after i get the check back (If), i will take them to small claims court anyway and sue them for the maximum amount i can.

One more thing

They took 180 dollars out of my account without my permission, after early cancellation. i had the money in the account for only a day before they stole it. Yes, it is in the contract that they can take out whatever amount they think you owe, without your permission (they did not tell me any of this over the phone when i first ordered service), from whatever account they have on file, but that still does not make it right. I paid my way- i paid the deposit, paid all my bills on time. The only thing i owe is early cancellation fee (which is insanely overpriced anyway). So i did not take anything from them. But they take from me. How would they like it if someone robbed one of them walking out of their headquarters after work? Its the same thing.

Directv didnt even try to give me a notice before they did that. And with your unwarranted hostile attitude, do you actually work for directv?

wow you are one nasty person. Lol my writing is just fine. This isnt a college essay and im not getting paid to write this. What is it with you grammar nazis. Anyway, if directv wants to steal from me (after returning my equipment and having paid all my bills on time, except the last month that i moved and canceled service) how would they like it if someone robbed one of those cowards walking out of their headquarters?

It boils down to the contract that YOU signed AND agreed to. In that contract that people like YOU never read, it states quite clearly that in the event that YOU cancel your services thereby breaking your contract, that YOU give them EXPRESS PERMISSION to take whatever amount YOU owe directly from the card on file. Meaning that YOU still owed them money, THEY took from you what YOU told them they could do. NOT A RIPOFF!! Why is it ALWAYS someone fault and a ripoff when YOU cant be bothered TO READ??!?!?! YOU agreed that THEY could take whatever amount YOU still owed from whatever card YOU had on file with them. I would suggest that in the future YOU READ WHAT YOU ARE SIGNING!!!!! But as your post shows, neither common sense OR basic reading skills are something YOU do. So no amount of free advice is going to help you. All YOU have done is LIED ONLINE ON A MEDIA OUTLET!!!! Due SOLELY to your ignorance. Perhaps YOU need to grow up some more BEFORE you become responsible enough. So go ahead and TRY and take them to court. Once the judge sees for himself that YOU DID SIGN A CONTRACT with those terms in them, YOU will have to pay ALL of the court costs AND attorney fees from the opposing counsel. Then DirecTv will have AMPLE ammunition to sue YOU in a civil case.
