We wre very impressed with our salesperson, she was honest and thorough. She made sure we had all the info we needed. It was herthe salesperson at the subdivision we were meeting at that ripped us off. He told us the interest rates were very low and if we wanted to be locked in we should sign right away before they went up. We were scared! Remember when you sign with Dominion there is a $500 dollar fee and if you don't build you only get half back. So, with a three day contingency we signed. They were so eager to sell the house they didn't even talk about what if the loan wasn't approved.
So, everything is rolling we deciding on our colors and the house is being built right before our eyes. What an exciting time, until the loan is disapproved. Oh no what do we do! We go with Dominion Financial Services. Do you think we got that same low rate promised in our contract 1 month prior?? NO!! but what could we do? we had signed and the house was being built. If we backed out now we wouldn't have our home or our $250. What will you do if they rip you off?

majority of homeowner's in our subdivision were promised a park and playground

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately there isn't much I can do about that now that I have lived in my home for 3 yrs.
However now we have a new problem. When we purchased our home the majority of homeowner's in our subdivision were promised a park and playground. Now, Dominion Homes has decided to sell that land as Commercial. A tire store. They are trying to build a tire store in the front of a Family home subdivision!!!
We have called all of our local media, hired a lawyer, and even went to city council. We are fighting back.
If you or anyone else sees this and has suggestions please share.
Don't buy Dominion!!!!

Rebuttal:
Normally, if financing is not approved, the seller must cancel the contract and refund the money. I'm not sure if this is true in your state, or if the same laws regarding "regular" houses apply here, but you should make use of a couple free consultations with attorneys and find out. Show the attorneys all your paperwork. If the builder is in on this, it would be an indication that they would only be trouble if you closed on this home anyway. Many people lose thousands of dollars in
defective construction and breach of warranty cases. Good luck. If you don't find a solution please contact the following homeowner advocacy organizations:
