I was stopped by two men in their mid 20's driving a black, mid-sized SUV with Dream Audio Works on the back, side windows and Michigan plates in a Walmart parking lot who asked me if I wanted to buy a home entertainment center. I was worried that they were trying to sell me stolen property but they showed me all kinds of paperwork and forms and told me that they were delivery men for this company, Dream Audio Works, out of Cleveland, OH and that the loading dock screwed up and gave them an extra entertainment center and two extra tower speakers.

They said that they had called their boss and he had said just to get what they could for them because they would lose them at their next stop otherwise. I was even shown a catalogue for the company that made the stuff, Genesis Media Labs, that had the items in it and listed their prices at $4,499 for the entertainment center and $2,249 each for the speakers. So I agreed to buy them and went and got some cash and that was the end of that.

I looked for Genesis Media Labs on the internet later that evening and within 5 miutes knew that I'd been scammed. I contacted the state police but they said there wasn't anything they could do so I contacted the attorney general but I haven't heard anything back yet.

Hopefully you are reading this before having fallen victim to these conn artists but if not, I know how you feel!

as long as you catch this scam within 72 hours in the state of ohio you are protected under law for a full refund. make sure you speak to the local police department and file a report if you can't get your money back. also search for the address of the local dream audio works office as this information really helps the police in getting your refund. i did this this past week and they gave my refund out of fear of being confronted by the police. i also informed the store manager that they were peddling in his parking lot and he was NOT happy. he immediately put his security to work and confronted the dream audio works scammers. i'm not sure how other states' laws work, but ohio has laws that protect you from scams with in 3 days time. if you don't catch it in time, you're pretty much outta luck. sorry.
