I went to drivetime only because i had credit problems, and bought a 2001 Kia Sportage. First problem that i encountered was a check engine light was on, and my sales person, Pete told me that they would not look at the problem until i purchased the car because it would be put in the back of the line to be serviced since it had no owner at the time, so i bought the SUV and called to have it serviced. First it took them 4 weeks to fit me in to their schedule, all the while getting crappy gas mileage (about 11mpg. they so called fixed the problem but still only 11mpg.

The other major problem, IT is March and I STILL have NO TAGS!!!! 5 Months. Hello. I have contacted the Department of transportation and the have told me that after the ownership of drivetime, the SUV has been issued in someone elses name in December. Due to privacy issues, the DOT cannot release that info.

I have called drivetime and spoke with the manager, Edward, of the dealership that i bought the car from and the corporate office and they told me that they don't make mistakes and that it was DOT's problem. Good lord, who does not make mistakes!!!

I now have nowhere to go, and connot afford a lawyer. The only thing that I have done is gone in every 20 days to get new tags. There will be a day, i'm sure that this car might be reported stolen and Where do I go with papre tags!!! Any Ideas?

File a complaint with DPS

Drivetime MGMT is full of crap!

They are required to apply for registration in your name within 10 days of sale.

They are pulling a fast one. Did you pay them the registration/tag transfer fee? I'm sure you did, therefore they are guilty of fraud.

Make a complaint with DPS to protect yourself. If you don't do this you could get pulled over and maybe arrested for stolen vehicle, etc..

Escalate your complaint to the District Attorney's office for fraud, and file a complaint against the dealers license. The tag office will give you the info to do this

Good luck
