DRIVETIME, UGLY DUCKLING DON'T MENTION GAP INSURANCE RIPOFF ORLANDO Florida

Hello:

I had the misfortune of being desperate for a car in 2001. So, I went to Ugly Duckling AKA Drivetime of East Colonial Drive, Orlando, FL and I bought a vehicle for $8654 plus 29% interest rate. I had a not at fault accident 4 months later and the insurance company paid them the value of the car $2981. Now they are comming after me for the entire $8654. They never offered Gap insurance and I didn't know what it was. This insurance covers the gap between what the insurance company pays and the actual value of the car (what you actually owe).

Gap Insurance is essential when dealing with companies like this and it should be mandatory for them to offer it when buying a car. Also, a carfax report and
the Kelly Blue Book or NADA of values to verify the value of the vehicle are important when financing an old car.
