Econo Lodge Cockroach infested, dirty and broke down Abescon New Jersey

While making a visit to Atlantic City, NJ, my family decided to book 2 rooms at the Econo Lodge at 306 E White Horse Pike in Absecon, NJ 08205.  After checking into the hotel around 8 PM ET on August 16,2013 (08/16/2013), we went into the rooms.  Easily noticed some discomfort feelings with both rooms including hard beds and cracked tables.  Also noticed the odor of smoke in both of the rooms, which one of the rooms should have been smoke free. 

After arriving, we took showers, again realized dirtiness with the shower (curtains and dirt in the corners).  My brothers and I headed out to Atlantic City, but didn’t make it when I got a call regarding the rooms.  They ended up be cockroaches in the room (I took a photo). 

We returned to the hotel and I spoke to the female at the desk regarding the situation.  She stated that they “do not have any cockroaches” and have “an exterminator come every week”.  I told her to come to the room and I will show her, but she refused and offered another room.  I stated it's in 2 rooms already, if it’s in 1 room its spreads and I didn’t feel comfortable with the situation. 

It was now past 10 pm and she refused to refund or credits my card after I ask nicely multiple times and stated I would not be staying there.  I called a few hotels in the area and finally got one very late as I was over 3 hours away from home with my young children and family and wouldn’t want them to sleep in the car.  I want a refund and to report this horrible business practice and how contaminated the hotel was infested with bugs.
