Ediets.com Ripoff Misrepresentation of goods and services included in membership no refund policy high cancellation fee unfair billing membership practices Deerfield Beach Florida

My husband and I thought ediets.com might be helpful to us because it had recipes and shopping list features. Before joining, we called the ediets.com 800 number and asked if there was any way to get recipes and shopping lists for 2 people. Omar, the ediets.com customer service representative told us that if one of us joined ediets.com and also paid to join the ediets.com recipe club, then we would be able to double all of the recipes and shopping lists. So I joined ediets.com and the ediets.com recipe club. Then I signed onto ediets.com to explore and print out recipes and shopping lists. I immediately discovered that the ediets.com recipes club recipe scaling too did NOT do what Omar had said it would. In order to scale recipes I would have to enter each indigent and amount into the scaler tool and then it would double it. I could save the extra $10/month and double the recipes my self for that amount of work.

So we immediately called ediets.com to cancel our membership. After speaking to a customer service representative, and then a customer service supervisor (Priscilla), we were told we'd have to pay the 1 months membership - $19.92 and the $25 cancellation fee, even though we had only been members for 30 minutes and had joined after being told by an ediets.com customer service representative that the product would provide services which it did not provide. I am placing the charges under protest with my credit card company and filing complaints with th Better Business Bureau, my state Attorney General and every consumer complaint web site I can find. This is a dishonest company. Do not do business with them.
