Elephant Wireless Rebate Scam

The world thrives on communication today, which is why I'm so upset with the customer service at Cingular Wireless. Quite honestly, I'm furious about this issue.

Here's my complaint: I purchased in person at the East Brunswick Square Mall, NJ Cingular store on Route 18 four cell phones with one year service contract, base plan with "Family $9.99 add on". Part of the "deal" was $50.00 in "rebates" from Elephant Wireless per added phone to cover free service for five months.

Interesting that these "rebate" forms were very poor duplicates of Elephant Wireless forms. I was told to send these all to an Elephant Wireless P.O. box in Edison NJ which I did back in October 2003, and again in January 2004.

Since then I thought it would be a good idea to follow up on the status of these. There is NO phone number to call, No EMAIL or WEBSITE to reference (the website has been under construction since I started checking it). I contacted Elephant Wireless customer service and was told that they have no control over rebates whatsoever, and I should contact the rebate center, which doesn't have a telephone number but should mail my request.

I was told to write a "note to Edison and they will respond". Who is "they"??? No one responds. Is there such a place? To date no one has responded to my letters.
I do get my monthly bill directly from Cingular, so I am their paying customer.

When I call Cingular, they say that they have no responsibility with the function of Elephant Wireless. SO who is responsible and what should I do. I found out that Elephant Wireless is listed in many complaints regarding scams in connection with Cingular. Who is responsible and how can we get our rights from misleading ads and misrepresentations.
