Emerge Master Card Unlawful, Ripoff, deceptive company screwed others too victimized many consumers Columbus Georgia

I opened my account with Providian three years ago. Since then the card has changed hands two times...From Providian to Get Smart and then to Emerge. In the process of the changes my interest rate has sky rocketted to 29.99%. I have never been late or gone over the credit limit in the three years of having this card. I have made several calls to Emerge and to Providian and both claim that they can not help me. They have promised me a call from a superivor several times and I have yet to hear from either.

These are the types of companies that prey on people who have had past problems with your credit. What I have found out is Credit Cards don't really give you as much leverage in building your credit as a loan with a bank or credit union does! Please beware when you are trying to restablish your credit! Ask your banker or your credit union how you can rebuild your credit without the scams.
