Empire Parking Services EPS Discrimination against Type 1 Diabetic Atlanta Georgia
*Consumer Comment: Discrimination?
On November 21, 2014 at 10:31am I parked my car in a paid public parking lot. There was a 2-hour time limit. I am a Type 1 Diabetic and my blood sugar suddenly dropped while I was on my way back to my car and I had to take time to manage that problem. This caused me to be 14 minutes pasted the 2-hour limit and my car was booted. It cost me $75 to have the parking lot company unboot my car. I requested a refund from the company on December 09, 2014, but was denied a refund. My resolution is to obtain a refund of $75.

Discrimination?

What do you do wake up in the morning and think the whole world is against you?
Seriously, this is NOT discrimination. Discrimination would be them not booting another car in the same situation where the only reason they did it to you was because you are diabetic. By the way how would they know you are diabetic and were having issues? Do you have a big sticker on your car that says if you are late it is because you are having a medical issue and please give you more time? Discrimination would be them charging you more than another person because you were diabetic. They did the exact same thing they would do to anyone who parked over their time..you got booted.
No, what you are looking for is to have them give you an EXCEPTION to their rules because you think you are a special case. Well sorry to tell you but them not giving you an EXCEPTION is not DISCRIMINATION.
Also, if you are that uncontrolled what would have happened if you were driving? What if this sudden drop caused you to plow through a crowd of people on the sidewalk? Would it be discrimination if you were charged with a crime, or do you think you should just be allowed to continue on?
Perhaps you should complain to the Georgia Department of Motor Vehicles and perhaps they will investigate you as to see if you are truly fit to drive.
