Emusic.com Rip-off! Unauthorized credit card charges. New York New York

Emusic is a rip-off.

I signed up for an account in January 2008 after clicking on a "Buy from emusic" link on pitchfork.com. The music I wanted to buy wasn't available on emusic, so I canceled my account right away.

Fast forward to May 2008. Emusic has been charging my credit card $19.99 every month, even though when I try to log in it says my account has been canceled. An extra twist? They're charging a card I NEVER USED for my account! What the heck!?!

I go to their website, only to find that the only way to contact them is through an email form!!!! Naturally, I get no response.

A month later, they add a phone number SPECIFICALLY for billing complaints to their website. I call. I complain. They say they will stop billing me, and "look into" refunding me the 6 months of unauthorized $19.99 charges.

Fast forward to August 2008. Emusic refunds me 6 months of $19.99 charges.

BUT!!!!! They CONTINUE to BILL MY CARD EVERY MONTH. They have billed me for June (when I complained, and they said they would stop charging me), July, August, and September -- almost the entire amount they refunded me.

I called again, and they said this time they REALLY WOULD stop charging me, and again, would "look into" refunding the unauthorized charges. I don't even want to think about how they got this credit card info in the first place. After reading other complaints, I want to go back and look at my bank statements since January and make sure this is the only card they've been charging.

UTTERLY RIDICULOUS. Among other things, Pitchfork should immediately drop emusic as a partner -- it ruins the site's credibility for me.
