I was placed at EONY through a temp agency I had been working with for about a year. I was told that the position could turn permanent if the owner liked me so the manager trained me extra hard to make sure I did everything to the boss' likeness. On pay day I checked my account to transfer some of my check to pay my bills but was surprised when I didn't see my check depsosited yet. My agency told me that they couldn't get in contact with my boss and that only he could sign off on my check in order to be paid and since he missed this weeks cut off I wouldn't be paid till next week. This wasn't at all doable for me. I talked to my manager about the situation and he told me he was so sorry and he would talk to the boss immediately to see if I could still get paid on time. After a few minutes my manager came back and asked to speak with my in the conference room.

He told me he spoke with the boss and told him everything I said and that the boss told me to go home. I had just come into work at 8:45am and I was being asked to go home at 9:45am,I was extremely confused. I asked him what had happened to make the boss tell me to leave so unexpectedly. My manager just kept apologizing saying he was so sorry he didn't understand the boss' request for me to leave and he would talk to him because I didn't deserve this.

I left the office and called my agency. They asked my for a different contact number for the company as the boss never answered their phone calls or emails about signing off on my checks. I didn't understand why it took for me to call them to tell me that I wasn't getting paid for the week. This happend on Thursday and they didn't get the boss to sign off on my checks until Monday which is more than a week and a half after the day he was originally supposed to sign off on my checks. The agency asked my former boss why he sent me home so abruptly, his response was he didn't like the responsibilty of having to check his emails or sign off on checks for an agency.Makes total sense for a man who owns a business who takes daily phone calls and emails. This was one of the worst experiences of my life. I've never been so disrespected before in a "professional enviroment". I should've listened to the tenants of this office space and gotten out of there on my first day. Apparently the company has a history of bad business practices and not holding on to receptionsits for too long.
